Shhhhh...

I love these guys but I'm eating this soap opera up... Loving hearing the couple of reasons I'm still single. Lol.

They're good men, though...
Just a couple???? :first:

Hey, priorities brother. I dated a girl for a few "days"... She came over and I opened the garage and she saw my 13 B302 and my 71 B351 and she said, "Ewww... Why do you like Mustangs?"

So, I actually turned her around, closed the garage door and said, "Have a safe trip home Hun."

Priorities...:ford:

This thread is all kinds of wrong. Thousands of years of evolution down the drain in one thread. :paddle::)

Hey, my wife is totally cool and said she wanted me to order a GT350R, with whatever color/options I wanted, but she wanted me to make sure it has a/c. Just funny hearing all these other guys say their wife said that too was funny :D

Besides, what evolution are we talking about? Us guys are, and always will be cavemen at heart!

I would have to say, you did the wright thing! Any woman including my wife ever responds to me that way about Mustangs or even Ford in general. Doesn't need to be around anymore!

I sure hope my wife doesn't read this!!!! :paddle:

Guess I am a lucky guy, the discussion lasted about 5 minutes, with my wife.
when I told her I wanted to buy this. She had a few simple questions, that was it.
I ordered it the way I wanted, but I did order the Electronics package.
But it was never discussed.
She loves the car, loves going for drives in it :)

This made me laugh so hard !! Especially if you had picked her up and drove her over to your house....and then said "have a safe trip home Hun"...You would think women would have a clue, when talking about another mans "kids":lol::headbang:

Chick drove up in a Hyundai... I hate Hyundais... Had an Elantra that claimed 40mpg. It got 42mpg for 5 months, then started getting 34-36mpg all the sudden. Dealership said it was fine. I said, "if it's fine then you take it and let's see if you get 40mpg." They never could... But could never explain it either. Sold that mess pronto.

When she got out of her four banger with a third of the horsepower of my B351, and then mocked my stable, it was clearly beknowngst to both of us that she had clearly overstayed her welcome.

I then deleted her #...

So, I just got the call that I am #1 to order my Dealer's GT350R allocation. I know you guys don't like ADM, but they are offering it at MSRP+$7500. I think that is a fair deal, but have concern about one thing.

I really like the GT350R, but I think that if the rumors of a monster '18 GT500 hold true, the GT350R will become easier to attain. WHat are your thoughts on the likely performance differences between the R and the next MY GT500? Do you guys think the R will hold enough value to ensure I don't take a complete bath on the R if I decided to upgrade to a 500 in a year or two? Thank you in advance.

Here is my take on this one:

1) If you are buying a NEW vehicle to "retain value", then buy it and never drive it. Park it in the garage with a cover over it and keep the miles off of it. Collectors retain value... if you're not a collector, get ready to swim. Oh and if it makes you feel any better, go on autotrader.com and look up used S600s for example, there are guys who paid 150+K for a car that is now worth 30k. I guess it all depends on what YOU think taking a bath is.

2) Have a plan on what you want. The GT500 will be a straight line car out of the box for the most part. The GT350 obviously is a road track car. What do you want more?

3) I think the whole ADM thing is a sham but whatever.... If you have deep pockets and don't care about pissing money away then it's not even a question. I have friends that gamble away more money in one sitting at the casino than any ADM I've ever seen posted. Me personally, I piss enough money out the window just purely changing out cars every few years. Dealers have made thousands off me....I'll never pay ADM just for that reason alone. Haha.

4) This is just a statement about racing in general if you go that route.... don't think because you buy brand X's special model car that you're going to be the fast guy anywhere. There is someone out there who already has thousands more than you into their ride and have boat loads of experience that will hand you your ass on a platter. It takes a lot more than just money to be fast, especially on road courses. I know many of you guys who have gone out for the first time have been humbled by this.

So, the obvious now. What is the process to track things? I have a page with an order number and dealer number. Is that all that is needed?

GM told me that the order was put in and that Ford would "pick it up" on Thursday. She said after that, I should be able to follow progress online, but didn't provide a link.

Yup. COTUS. The site is regularly down these days. You want to see three fields for the Order Number, Dealer Code, Your Last Name.

You're probably in "Unscheduled - Material Hold". You want to watch for "Unscheduled - Clean" as the next step. See my signature. It can take a while.

You can get to it without a password - you just have to click it again. Then wait awhile and click it again, etc.

However, I don't think it's working yet for any of the 2017 orders.
