  1. DFW Tire Shop to remove / mount tires on Carbon Fiber Wheels

Looking for DFW area tire shop to remove / mount tires on my GT350R carbon fiber wheels. Obviously looking for someone with a Hunter Revolution Touchless machine, or equivalent (if there is one), AND who has done one or more sets of these wheels. Thanks in advance. - Dave
  2. For Those Daily Driving a GT350R (or city driving)

Iā€™ve DDā€™d my ā€˜17 R for 40,000 miles, though half of those were highway miles. First thing I did was install Need 4 Speed 6GR wheels with PS4Sā€™s. Fantastic street tires and no worries about them getting stolen. Agree with leaving the R splitter on; it was a pain to install correctly and Iā€™m just...
  3. Voodoo Crankshaft Weight?

I've Googled and searched the GT350 forum and can't find the answer. Has anyone either weighed their Voodoo crankshaft or found documentation of its weight? TIA
  4. Anyone Running E30 Fuel Mixture On A Stock Tune?

FWIW, I had a tribologist recommend I run a tank of E30 about every fifth to eighth tank. Iā€™ve done it less frequently than that. 4.25 gal of E85 and 11.75 gal of 93 (E10) makes 16 gal of E30 with 96 octane. Injectors are not maxed out. Mileage sucks but car runs noticeably stronger. Not as good...
  5. Houston Dealer GT350 Service

West of I45. I donā€™t mind a short hike if I know the techs and dealer will do what I need them to.
  6. Houston Dealer GT350 Service

I would love to do that but since I just moved back here to take a new job, I'm working 7 to 7 including Saturdays, and won't have any time to do that. Can you recommend a dealer? Thanks. BTW, love the Bullitt.
  7. Houston Dealer GT350 Service

Just moved back to Houston after decades away. Got an SEL on my GT350 and want a dealer to pull a code and let me know what the deal is. (Maybe emissions?) Car is bone stock, under warranty. I want a dealer who knows what theyā€™re doing and wonā€™t joy ride my car or get grease on the interior...
  8. Redline oil vs Motorcraft

Engine failures would be difficult to prove were caused by a difference in viscosity, viscosity index, stability, etc. Latest cert, IIRC, was for limit on phosphorus (ppm) to preserve cat performance - check the MSDS of your oil to decide if the difference in it's P content compared to OEM is...
  9. Daily Drive R

Exactly. Ditto ownership period and miles; ditto re wheels and tires; ditto careful re splitter; ditto re reason to DD. Life's too short. This car is more fun than my '06 Z06 was.
  10. Joe Gibbs DRIVEN FR50 5W-50 Synthetic Racing Oil

I don't know what he based his statement, about the OEM oil shearing quickly, on, but I base my agreement with his statement, in part, on an analysis of the OEM fill at 500 miles, an analysis of a different oil at 2,500 miles (both run by a nationally known lab), both of which were reviewed and...
  11. 15,000 Miles On the R: The Good and the Bad

HR606. Xpel on forward facing surfaces, 2 coats CQuartz Professional over entire car - before any miles. Started DD'ing her mid-July 2017. Mounted 6GR's and PS4's at 500 miles. Now with 16,4xx. Swapped the OEM shoes back on for the Shelby Show weekend last month, then took them off. Car is very...
  12. Fuel Mileage Gauge

Not to hijack, but have y'all noticed that the digital mpg is exactly 1 mpg MORE than actual consumption?
  13. Leadfoot Gray JR207

Welcome to the R DD club! And 1 year into it, I can tell you the xpel and ceramic were the best $ I've spent on the car. You'll be glad you did.
  14. New 18 R for $4,085 UNDER sticker. $62,405

Would Gotti want to talk to them?
  15. Oldest GT350 owner?

Right on, SVTinAR! Grew up in Houston, so the heat is my briar patch. Can stay out there for hours, with the sweat pouring off my face. The wife comes out once in awhile to make sure the car hasn't fallen on me. By the afternoon, I've had as good, or better, of a workout as an hour in...
  16. Oldest GT350 owner?

What a brutal thread. 57. Still do all my own wrenching, with floor jacks and hand tools, in the 100 degree heat. Can still make the car dance, without getting my heart rate up. But I can still get my heart rate to 190 at the end of my workout. "70 is the new 50." Take that, younglings...
  17. Stupid high oil temps - GT350R

Another .02 FWIW, to echo other comments: Canyon twisties do not allow nearly the air velocities and/or time at those velocities as open track driving. (Heat transfer is a relatively strong function of air velocity, and, to a certain degree, of thermal resistance and heat transfer...
  18. The R still turns heads - 2 years later

It's ridiculous. 13,000 DD miles on my R since last July, and the car gets stared at or thumbs up virtually every time I drive it. Several 18 wheeler drivers have honked, rolled their windows down and given the big . My son's engineering classmate at Baylor who DD's and tracks an Alpha...
  19. 2018 R Finally Here!

Car is stunning! And now that your wait has paid off, it's time to put that gorgeous car on tour! Register ASAP for the Legacy Bank annual Shelby Show and bring that beauty to Plano. https://www.legacytexas.com/campaign/shelbycarshow/9th-shelby-car-show.html Also, please join the North...
  20. Would you buy a GT350R again?

If I had the cash, 720S (or the coming LT), GT3RS, GT2RS, Pista, or TDF. Wish list, for sure, but short of those cars, the R is a fantastic DD that does not embarrass when beat on at the track. And, though beating a dead horse, the almost constant attention it gets is ridiculous. So, yeah, I...
