I'm tired of seeing people creating treads of them not being satisfied with their ecoboost mustang. If you bought this car with the intention that it would live up to what the gt would do you are "WRONG" but if your someone like me that is happy with what you can get out of this platform with just a couple mods, you probably love yours as well. As for as my ecoboost goes i have a Cobb accessport, Custom tune (tune+), intake (mmr), Larger intercooler , sportline springs, spacers, other cosmetic bs, and i just feel like I've struck gold with this car for my needs. Previously I've owned 2 rx-7's one turbo, miata, Audi a4, rx-8, and challenger rt as well as a cbr 1000 and a honda fury. I've never been satisfied with one car until i got my mustang ecoboost. Others need to share their thoughts because theirs too much negative floating around on this forum.

I owned a 99 GT and a 2009 GT. My ecoboost not only lived up to those, but surpasses them. People don't realize these 2015 GT are supposed to be as comparable or better then the boss 302. Those are large shoes to fill for a 4cyl, and actually a heavily modded ecoboost is quicker than these GT. I got mine fully decked out with every option and upgrade except recaros, because I wanted heated/cooked seats. I love my car, I treat it like a baby and take great care of it, I couldn't be happier. Wait till e85 conversion start coming out on the reg these cars will mow down a lot of newer GT for sure

3k miles on mine so far. Loving every minute. I drive 45 miles a day, so the EB made sense. I have all of the technology bells and whistles, it keeps me comfortable and entertained. I've had fast cars in the past, but those become expensive. Fastest was a 65 mustang with a 331 stroker, t5z 5 speed and 9" with 3.80 gears. Wouldn't mind a faster car later but will wait until it can be a weekend toy.

Really hard to find these features in a stick these days, I can get most of them but nothing like my EB. Looked hard at a GTI, and an ST also. I'm a fan of the hatches but VW wouldn't budge on price. Test drove the ST after I drove my Mustang but it was over at that point, the ST never stood a chance. Fun little car far more practical for me but yeah, not a Mustang. In short I couldn't be happier with what I got, makes my daily commute much better.

Absolutely love my EB. Was originally looking at the V6, but I'm so happy I went with the EB instead. It's amazing how the car transforms with some simple bolt-ons and a tune. Next up for me is the Levels IC that I have on order and then I swear I'm done with mods for a while (we'll see about that ). I really hope to keep the car for a long time so my plan is to stick to bolt-ons for now and maybe do meth and big turbo way down the line.

But yeah, the EB rocks.

But seriously, I love the car. But it's a little slower than I had hoped for. I'll admit, I didn't do my homework as well as I should have. I saw the big name tuners going low 12s and 11s with minor mods. And my scale is probably a bit skewed. My previous 2 foxes made over 500 whp, the cobra before that was 700. So it's been a while since I've had anything this "slow". BUT that's also why I bought the car. My previous cars were fun, but not the most street friendly. I wanted something quick and comfortable with a little bit of a barrier to keep it from getting out of hand.

Those of us that came from other turbocharged cars love this platform and can appreciate what it is.

People who bought it because it's a Mustang will never be happy because it doesn't have a V8. The Mustang is the Iconic Pony car and that also means it carries lots of baggage. If Ford had given the car a different grill and tail light, and called it the Capri there wouldn't be anywhere near the negativity. The only negatives on most reviews are that it doesn't sound like a V8 or should've gotten the V8 which implies a negative bias going in and the car will never get a fair shake from a purist. But my favorite line from this article rings true

I owned a 2002 Mustang GT and loved that car it was my first V8. When I first saw the new S550 it didn't really spark my interest until I saw one up close and personal. I was initially looking at a V8 but pricing was an issue along with a few other factors.

I wanted something that looked good, was fast, cheap insurance and good on gas and that's when I saw the Ecoboost. At first I couldn't believe they put a turbo 4 inside this thing so I found one I was interested in and went and test drove it. It was faster then my 2002 GT and that put a smile on my face. Only downside was the exhaust it's terrible.

I recently got back from a road trip to PA from Norfolk with the Eco it rained all damn week but I still had fun in the mountains back roads. I drove over 1000 miles between leaving Norfolk to Williamsport PA, Corning NY and the Casino. The engine never let me down and I'm using Torrie's special 93 file.

Would I have bought a GT if circumstances allowed at that time probably but I don't regret my Ecoboost purchase at all. I still drive it every chance I get and it's fun hauling ass from light to light because nothing can touch it.

I still have my 06 GT. I got a 10 V6 as a daily commuter for gas mileage (~100 miles/day). When the EB came out with all the new technology, it was an easy decision for me to get it. What I wanted; better gas mileage, better technology (everything, electronics, interior, suspension, etc), more power and better looks. I got everything I wanted out of it and then some.

I absolutely love the threads on gas mileage when GT owners try to feel better about what they are getting. I will honestly admit that my lifetime MPG is at 25 and I'm happy with that. I think it was about 23 with the V6 but I have tons more power! If I had the GT, I wouldn't be one of the guys saying I got 25 MPG, mine would probably be about 17, it's just the way I drive. Then again, as I said, I'm LOVING driving this car!

I just wanted something different. I already have a 2001 Z28 that on a bad day on street tires will do mid 11's. I daily drove the car for 10 years getting around 12-15mpg. that 4K stall really hurts mileage in traffic. My Camaro is soo angry, not refined, with an old skool Muscle car feel sitting low to the ground, no stability control, no traction control, hell.. the stereo consists of a 1/4" input to plug a phone or mp3 player in and has no clock.. and I love driving it for that reason. I test drove a new GT and it was Meh.. yes it has power but felt soo not like a muscle car to me. like the technology in the suspension and such was just sapping away the feel that was looking for. I test drove the ecoboost and bought it because it had quicker steering and the thought of getting 20mpg on the drive to work sounded good and figured eventually I'll put a big turbo on it and give it some balls.

so... I went with the ecoboost. I ordered mine just as they were arriving on dealership floors in 2014. After taking delivery I seriously almost sold it because its dog slow and felt soo disconnected from the engine. It was marginally better with Cobb OTS stage 1 tune and a CAI so I could at least hear the turbo but with the constant advancements in tuning and performance parts its now something that I do really enjoy and never feel its lacking. All it needs now is a big turbo and finish up the water/Meth injection install and it will be right up there with the Camaro as far as power but it will never have that really angry feel the Camaro has and I'm good with that because the Ecoboost is a lot more comfortable and livable for daily life.
