It was a Saleen build. If I had made the choice, I likely would have went with different heads and cam. Car still made a lot of power for the time. Over 475 to the rear wheel isn't too bad. There's always something that can be done better, I'm sure.
ok i was off, 475....so about the same as a 15 with E85, headers, and an intake manifold. yeah, not the same cars.

No kidding, man. These cars are awesome. I would have loved to have this motor in 1994. It's almost too easy to make big HP. Still doesn't change the fact that spending twice as much on headers doesn't give you twice as much value or performance.

headers are not exempt from the law of diminishing returns. they are definitely better headers, whether or not they are a value at the difference in price is a little more of a personal thing.

Can someone explain the importance of eliminating the 'bottleneck'? Sorry if this is a dumb question

a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. a 3" exhaust with a 2.25" bottleneck is a 2.25" exhaust. essentially.
Beefcake told me there really isn't much restriction there (power robbing) especially in an NA setup. Is there any data of a before and after of changing it out to full 3" and showing big gains? I'm sure the biggest restriction in the factory ehaust is removing the cats

our 2011 car, with the 2.5" factory connect we ran 8.7s.......

i think n/a your really not giving up much of anything, but some do like a full 3",

it's all personal preference

I didn't say there was a restriction, that depends on power level.

You can make 2000 HP through a 2 inch exhaust, but that doesn't mean it won't make 2500 with 3 inch or 2800 with open headers.....(for a gross example).

Watch engine masters. They found that denting the primaries isn't as detrimental as we all had thought it would be.

And they just did a 2.5 vs 3 inch vs open collector comparison, too.

Any Dyno charts available on these headers to backup the inflated prices and thread claims in THIS thread on the different header manufacturers for the Coyote engine????

I'm all ears.:gossip:
