New to the forums but have a question and want advice .

Don't wanna be captin obvious but ,As you know we are hearing sad stories of Ecoboosts blowing and some covered under warranty and some not

I have a 15 ecoboost and have parts Id like to install and also a COBB AP
But am really paranoid now to even install parts . Or the tune in that matter because I can always put stock parts back on but once PCM is flashed im aware they can tell .

My question is ..... Can you buy a spare pcm , tune that one and if somehow you go kaboom just put your factory one back on ? So it's still covered via warranty ?

Listen don't take this the wrong way but if you're that worried about the car exploding why even entertain the idea of modding the car. The odds of your engine blowing up is next to none. Be smart and drive smart and enjoy your mods.

so many ecoboost mustangs stock, modded, raced, even in the 10's with a stock motor plus nitrous and awesome tuning / driving (congrats UPR:headbang:)

it's just becoming ridiculous. This situation reminds me of all the coyote cylinder #8 failures
and the MT-82 china breaks like glass transmissions
don't feed into this nonsense
Cobb's OTS tunes are very conservative. Install the tuner and have fun:thumbsup:

Wow! ,just go get rid of it already, every day you wait is more depreciation. I'm sure you won't lose much trading for a V6.
If I was as unhappy as you the car would have been long gone. I'm still over the moon with mine.

I'm waiting for the refresh (guess MY18) and see if I jump into a GT (if my insurance goes down) otherwise I'm getting a Charger RT (4 doors = less insurance?!)

I'm not getting no stinkin' V6.. I say I wish I would of gotten a V6 instead of this EB, then again I wish I would of leased instead of financed Lol.. OH WELL, live and learn.

And I never really said I'm unhappy, I've said several times I like the car, but I dislike this engine.. the car itself is just fine, great even. Looks good, turns heads, makes me feel like staring at it every time I park it, however the engine noise is awful, the power isn't that great, mpg's are terrible, and there's a reliability concern... F all that.

Any car you buy it's a reliability concern just saying.

I have a 2000 Toyota Corolla, it's an awful car, but it has 220,000+ miles with an automatic 3 speed tranny.. been in the family for over 17 years, it's the car I learned to drive in, the car I took my license test in, still going strong.. kind of, minus all the suspension issues Lol.

So no sir, not the same amount of concern over reliability for every car out there. My concern with this 2.3 is the fact that it's new and still unproven.. this is my first time dealing with a DI motor and my first turbo car, probably my last too. N/A all the way Lol.. love me a big ol bulletproof V8. If the Coyote goes DI for 2018 well then F it.. the Hemi 5.7 however is a relatively simple, strong, reliable motor.. in the past the biggest drawback on Mopars were the Tranny's.. now with that ZF 8 Speed those RT's are beastly.

If you want to believe everything you read on the internet that's your prerogative.

What does the internet have to do with anything I said?..

My concern with the 2.3 stemmed from my own experience of getting awful mpg's (everyone keeps telling me my car is broken and I'm an idiot for not taking it back to the dealer, I'll take it back once it explodes.. Lol, it has an extended warranty) and having the car go into limp mode several times along with the carbon buildup issue regarding DI motors and the fact that this thing is so sensitive to fuel quality, I even go out of my way to get gas from only 1 gas station, I even try to use the same pump every time.. Lol. All these motors popping, well.. all that did was raise an already elevated level of concern, especially the stock motors giving out even tho so far they all seem to be 2014 build dates and mine is a 16 with a mid 15 build date.

There is something wrong with your car, i rarely go below 160kph (!00 mph) on the autobahn because where i drive the most, between Frankfurt and Kaiserslautern is about 75% unlimited, 20,000 kilometers most of if full bolt ons and tuned, frequent trips above 160 mph and my average is 20.5 mpg.

Keep taking it to the dealer and lemon law it. A broken car is not good and it will not get better with age.

Don't believe the hype about the engines reliability. at this piont after the coyote was released there were more engine failures than the Eco has had
