I'm honestly tempted to buy another set of Vikings. I sold mine over a month ago because I didn't plan on switching back and forth with my FRP ones. However, I miss them for some reason lol.

Shipped off my shocks!

As above, shipped my Viking rear shocks off to MN to be repaired, modified, rebuilt, whatever. I am cautiously optomistic that I will receive useable shocks in return.

Not real happy, so far, about situation particularly since Viking has yet to admit anything beyond they are fixing the squeak problem. Mine have never squeaked but rattle terribly. Put stock PP shocks back on - great - no noise.

Not happy with BMR suspensions right now either (shocks recommended and purchased through BMR). They have failed to respond to a couple of emails so far. Seem to want to sweep me under the rug. Well this is the internet generation. No way I blow $600.00 on a pair of shocks to be told - too bad - so sad. Live with the noise. Unacceptable behaviour from vendors will not go undocumented. Moronic answer to problem.

Time will tell. Crossing my fingers. Read all about it here and all over the net.

I'm surprised at how many people are having problems with these shocks even after the revisions. It's definitely making me want to stay away from this company.

Well started with 5/7, lot of rattle and jarring.
then tried 9/7, most rattle gone, little squeaking.
yesterday tried 13/12, super bouncy and little bit of noise(hard to describe).
Today 13/14, took some bounce out but not all, no noise.
Tomorrow will try 13c - 15r/16r, hope it eliminates rest bounce, with no noise.

The instructions seem generic by nature, I believe these instructions are not vehicle specific, meaning settings in instructions aren't accurate for the mustang.

Hope others are testing theirs out like myself and not just throwing them on, hear a rattle then take off.

Ideally you'd tune compression/rebound based on vehicle characteristics and not to eliminate unwanted noises.

Exactly.

Not acceptable, not one bit. Shouldn't have to tune out rattle as opposed to tune in suspension. If it works for you and you can justify the high cost of these shocks and live with the outcome of a shock tuned to not rattle as opposed to tuned for performance then have at it.

I went with Viking months and months ago and tried working with them to cure the noise and after they were exhausted with working with me and my efforts they dropped me like a bad habit and left me to figure out what to do with no more f's for me. So I found out what to do, return them for a refund.

Wanted them to figure it out because I think otherwise the shocks were great but it's obvious they haven't and their customer service hasn't changed so see you later Viking my money is now going to another vendor.

If I hear one more person or vendor suggest living with this .................. I'm just out.

I have said before, I am not a brand "groupie" , I buy what I feel is the best part out there and these are completely out of the equation.

So I pulled my Warriors over the weekend and immediately noticed a much quieter ride. I'm not surprised that going from soft PP shocks to considerably stiffer aftermarket shocks complete with a much stiffer urethane bushing in the lower mount that there's more noise with the Vikings, but I was really surprised at how much noise went away when I removed them. Earlier in this thread I mentioned the impetus for this was to track down a really annoying rattle that had recently developed, and it turns out the Vikings weren't the cause of it, but they're definitely quite a bit louder than the stock shocks. All that said, I'm actually going to put them back on the car because I like them and my tolerance for noise is pretty high. I do imagine though that the noise my shocks make is nothing like what some of you are describing.

Mine are still pretty tame. It doesn't help that I keep all my tools in my trunk, so I always hear rattling and clunks.

I also still have my settings pretty soft(IMO), 5C/8R. I like them, but as I see many aren't happy, I would never recommend them.

Except to Jaime ( Jmeo ). I'd highly recommend ;) I kid, I kid!!

This is a good point. Could account for some of the noise. I had the squeak too - that was really over the top and was related to the compression setting (more = louder). Wonder how Koni / Bilstein will attach their shocks. Sure hope they do their homework.

I have had Koni before and they did an awesome job.

I'd agree if I wasn't under the impression this is a generic shock. I.e. meant for multiple vehicles with matching particulars of this shock. Not one word in the instructions mentions ford/mustang, everything is "vehicle", perhaps the instructions are generic and shocks are specific but i doubt it. The shock may work with unexpected problems if outside the parameters, I.e. noise/rattle.

Koni should work that way since those shocks are s550 mustang specific.

13 compression on viking is matching the PP shock at 3in velocity, according to Kelly's chart. Another reason I believe the shock is generic, I'd figure PP shock be lower on the scale if it was focus point.

These are my opinions atm, not stating facts (Minus the PP shock comparison).
