So this weekend I finally got around to installing these products in my IRS:
BMR Alum. Diff bushing
BMR Delrin cradle bushing
BMR LCA Bearings
BMR Toe rods
Ford racing toe to knuckle bearings
BMR Vertical links

So I take it for a test drive this morning and every time i push the clutch in when the car is moving it makes a clunking sound and then does it again when i release the clutch. I does not make the clunking/rattling sound when the car is still, its almost like when you take the load on and off of the car it does it. It will also do it if i'm cruising slow and tap on the gas and let off quick. Anyone got any Ideas, I've already went back and re torqued all the bolts and can't figure this thing out.

Also on a side note, does anyone know on the BMR toe rods which side the wider spacer goes on, on the inside? I put it on the aft side but after looking at it today it looks like it may be better on the fwd side to give more clearance on the mount.

BMR tech please feel free to step in here.

Thanks

Send Kelly (BMR Tech) a PM. I've had some questions for him, and he always gets back to me promptly. Great service from them!

I would check to make sure everything was torqued.

Mine also clunks now. I think it's the lash in the drive train that is now coming through. I'm not worried about it, that's the compromise of not have soft rubber bushings everywhere.

It could be something loose, and it could be the lash in your driveline, just noisier now because everything is tied together more stiffly.

I believe what you are hearing is your driveshaft. Not because it's mounted wrong; more the play that it inherently has and everytime you do the clutch on/off maneuver you get that sound from it loading/unloading. It's always been there but the stock bushings hide most of it or give a 'thud' sound. With the solid bushings that you have added, especially the differential ones, your going to get much more solid sound transfer through the car. I added the Steeda red street differential bushings, camber adjustable arms, BMR vert links, cradle lockout kit, toe rods and end links and I can hear the sound you are describing but not as harsh or hardly at all. I haven't fully researched it yet but I believe an aftermarket driveshaft can eliminate that.
In regards to the toe-rods, the longer bearing should be towards the front as it allows a cleaner angle of the arm. You can kinda get an idea of what I'm talking about in my pic as you can just see that area of the toe rod.

Let us know what you come up with.

The Alum diff bushings really transfer a lot of NVH. I would not recommend them for daily driving, to harsh for me.

people have had issues with there aluminum diff bushings in the past, to the point where aluminum shavings were forming. Might want to change those out.

Correction:

People have had issues with any brands aluminum diff lockout or inserts.

Whether it is braking, bending bolts or aluminum shavings from friction and movement.

The OP stated aluminum diff bushings, in that case, never an issue. And they are the most proven and best pieces available

As others have said, the 2 piece driveshaft is the likely culprit. I'm running the red rubber steeda diff bushing inserts and the driveshaft noise is much more noticeable. I can only imagine the aluminum bushings would make the sound much, much worse.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, Im 99.9% sure its just driveline noises im hearing, the more I drive it I believe this to be the case. BMR did a great job on all of these products, the rear feels much more planted and I do not have any wheel hop anymore. I'll get used to the extra noises, the benefits far surpass a little noise coming from the rearend!
