If both cars were dynoed on 91 that proves my point even more. So basically you are saying the z28 would make even more on 93 octane! Which is what GM brought to the gun fight. They either have higher octane race gas (not pump gas) or a tune. That's cheating!
Plus the gt350/r does not have 13.0:1 they have 12.0:1. Big difference.
Motortrend said 13:1. So it's 12:1 which is still more vulnerable to lower octane then the 11:1 ls7. The z28 is rated for 91, so why would it not gain more on 93? The gt350 gained 11hp going from 91 to 93 and gained another 16 going from 93 to 98. The ls7 was rated on octane everyone can get, not like the gt350 which is rated at 93 and many states don't offer that.

I never agreed that the R ring time was legit. I'm simply talking about MotorTrend dyno pulls.
I will say the R is the better faster car.
I will agree to that.

Don't put words in my mouth. I'm not talking about Track times. I'm talking about same day, same track, same dyno.
If you honestly believe GM made more hp stock at only a 7% loss compared to all other z28s your blind.
Nah that's fair. I thought you were saying times/runs from different days. My bad. I can't read I guess.

I just get annoyed with people claiming "ringers" when a car does well. Could there have been one? Maybe? I doubt it. Cause from what I've seen people post on here it's always that or a similar excuse.

I don't know why people are mad about it anyway. I had a fifth gen ZL1. It was slower than the GT500. I didn't care. I bought it because I liked it. Not because it was the fastest car on the block.

Where are you going with this? Cause if you're going to whine about using PERFORMANCE tires when running a car on a track I'll point and laugh at you every time for making such a dumb point.

They used a performance tire on a performance car.... Waaaaaaaaahhh. That's you.

I'm sorry you think every performance car should have GT Radials on them from the factory... But that's not reality.
Great a car with slicks oem performs better just because it has a7's on it. Great logic!

Just because a driver has done many laps at the ring doesn't mean he's as good as a driver as Nero. Be real. Plus any manufacturer who does the ring will get the fastest driver they can get to do. Way to many conspiracies with you guys. You all were raving about the gt350r ring time which beat the z28, yet not one bit of proof that it did it. But to you guys it was legit and on the level. So did this Sport auto guy do the gt350r?:headbonk:
A manufacturer runs hundreds of laps with tweaks and tune for the specific track yes it will run faster.
My question is this....why are their times twice the difference of the Porsche times?
And why did the z28 fail to beat the 12 zl1 time?

You are the one stating that if they have better tires they have more performance. It's nice to know gm has to cheat like this to keep up.

Basically oem did not work out so they had to go by other means. They are not the only ones that do this...gm, Nissan, Lamborghini.

Do you think Ford brought the gt350 to the ring? Do you think they took a stock gt350r right off the showroom and ran the ring without doing anything to it? Do you think they ran a couple laps and said, yep that was good, let's call it a day?

So GM had dry/summer only racing tires and somehow set a record lap with them only because of higher performance tires that don't work well in rain, on a lap where it rained.

Got it.

They ran a stock ford GT350/R for their own r and d purposes. The thousands of pieces information they take from these runs remain in house.

If you market a oem stock vehicle, one should make damn sure every oem vehicle can pull those numbers. I'd be shocked if any off the dealer lot gm can do what they market.

And they the gained 4 seconds after they tried and failed to match the 2012 zl1 time on a dry track. Now you understand my doubts!

I'd be shocked if you or I personally could get within 5 seconds of any times the GT350R set on various tracks. Because generally no one who buys the car will be able to pull of the hero times.

Well, you did all this work to your car and gaurantee that it's 3 to 4 seconds faster than an R. I'm just genuinely interested in your track experience with the car. Do you have any videos of track days with it?

I'd love to get a GT350, but with the ADM and non existent leases on the car, I'll probably just end up getting a new 1LE next month. I'm not really a brand guy and I like to beat cars up on track and give them back.

When they ran the gt350, you think they ran the same time each lap. Your way over thinking this.:headbonk:
