Jealousy is strong with this one. Try to keep your distance and don't argue with them.

Am i missing anything?

Drag Racing is just as much a drivers race as is road racing. You don't just press the gas and hold on. What about tire shake and pedaling? What about a car that carries the front wheels? What about a car that's a manual? Your just looking at one side.

Annoying as hell when track guys says there is no art in drag racing.
Never said that there is no art or skill involved in drag racing. Trust me, I do understand otherwise.

But this isn't about that. So I'm not going to argue over drag racing details that the drag race driver is responsible for coping with.

What it is about, is a few cars that were intentionally aimed at the road course segment of the car enthusiast world, and about a few drag racers who whine when the mfr produces a car that gives somebody else's preferences top priority over drag racing (for a change).

I think i m starting to understand how some gt350 owners feel about the zl1's and zl1 1le's here. Here is the category;

For some its just esthetics, they like the looks of the gt350 more, don't care about the performance of the competition.

For some, its the value. GT350 might keep its resale value higher for the future.

For some, its the driving experience, they are more confident in handling a linear powered na car rather than a torque and hp monster.

For some, the voodoo engine is so special, in their entire life they all dreamed about owning a high revving, good sounding, Ferrari similar vehicle, and the gt350 is as good as it gets for the price.

For some, they would like to make a statement and never go down on their brand loyalty.

For some, they paid so much for it, invested ton off money on the modes and its hard to go back now. They can't accept the major competition being faster than them for similar or lower pricing. Jealousy is strong with this one. Try to keep your distance and don't argue with them.

Am i missing anything?
I am not afraid to admit the zl1 or zl1 1le is faster. Damn it should be it has 124 more hp and 221 more tq. My only point is people keep comparing the zl1 and zl1 1le and gt350/R these are not the same cars to compare against. Sure they are both track monsters. But I do not agree to compare them because one is na the other is fi. I don't care if they both cost the same or if one is lesser cost. I'm not taking away the zl1 and zl1 1le achievements.

We have to compare something, this is the vs section.:D Since Ford doesn't have a FI track car, and Chevy doesn't have a NA track car, there still both track cars. It's not a fair comparison, but it's all we got. Most don't want to compare the SS1le to the gt350.

Technically. The 4 banger Mustang and Camaro are track cars. Cant always be the fastest guy at the track.

Don't know if a Z28 is coming, but GM has Laguna Seca rented for 3 days. March 14-16. Very interesting.

The camaro zl1/zl1 1le is just icing on a block of lead.

Just like everything else they've cheated, tuned, shaved, added for vid marketing which never show up at the dealer. Basically it's 13 GT500 with irs and big sticky tires. Beer!

I really don't understand the issue of not comparing cars with different types of engines. There are many solutions to the same problem. Some use twin turbo V6, some use NA V8, some use supercharged V8. What difference does it make? They are designed to do the same thing (roads), just different approaches from different designers at a similar price point. There are many people that cross shop a variety of makes and models for the given purpose and don't necessarily exclude one design approach over another until they decide which they prefer. I know many here don't care for Motor Trend, but did you see the latest comparison. Quite the range in styles, engines and prices. What they were looking for was the car that they liked best to do a certain job and didn't exclude models due to engine type. Also, the most expensive one did not win. Saying the GT350R and ZL1 1LE are not the same cars to compare is a random decision by an individual, certainly not a reality in the market place.

I give up with this subject.
We'll see how some judge the next GT500 vs the SS 1le.
MotorTrend and other magazines don't impress me either. They often do not compare apples to apples.
Why didn't the magazines compare the 2014 gt500 vs the z28?
I'll tell you why! BECAUSE THEY COMPARED THE BOSS 302 vs z28.
