Seriously doubt that will happen this is not a new modle like the Z/28 was. It is an option one can order on the ZL1. Want big wing, dssv, huge summer rubber AND all the tech stuff? Just check the box when ordering and you can have it your way. It is 100% unlike the Z/28, this is not a take it or leave it thing that has only one speaker and optional AC. This is a car that you can option how you like.

I think chevy learned thier lesson with the Z/28.

I can't speak for the ZL1 1LE, but the ZL1 is pretty easy to get under MSRP.

They release the largest production FPC V8 in history, put it in the most affordable platform for said engine and decided to do something special for the GT350 instead of just a FI 5.0...and Ford is lazy?

Just because they're not going the route you think is best doesn't make them lazy. If you want to go test drive a Chevy then go ahead, but don't throw a fit if you jump ship and then Ford releases something after you're gone.
3 years ago, and its a great car, for road racing, so much so it seems almost sacrilegious to try to drag race it, even though if I had one I would. Where is the car for what most people crave? Flat plane is cool, but being a engineer I'd love to see an identical cross plane set up to see how much flow optimization the flat plane gives over a cross plane, and therefore power, I'd guess about 2-3%. I don't see a Bullet or Mach 1 as an answer, we need a Cobra or 500, turboed, with a 5.2 crossplane with Voodoo heads and optimized cams. We had a 500 and a Boss at the same time, and they sold just fine. Anyway, modern high performance cars should do both, extremely well.

I love how GM keeps talking about the "flow tie" and how it's blacked out. I also love the fact that I can now finally iron my cloths on the rear spoiler of the car. That ironing board is so convenient! What a great option.
You forgot the toilet seat hood.

True, the ZL1 1LE weighs only 63lbs more then the GT350, yet is fully loaded with every option. You add the elec package to the GT350, then there is only a 33lb difference. A FI car should not be this close in weight compared to a NA car.
My GT350R w/electronics package weighs 3701. The ZL1LE is aimed at that trim, not a non-R GT350.

I know we're talking about the ZL1 1LE here, but,.......I can't wait to see a ZL1 line up with a '13 or '14 GT500.
The GT500 with some mods against a'17 automatic 10 speed ZL1, just to make it somewhat even. From a dig, from a rolling start and quarter mile times. Not just once. A couple races of each just to fully confirm wins.
Motortrend just posted the numbers.the 14 GT 500 3.5. 60 11.6 1/4 @ 125.7. ZL1 auto trans. 3.5. 60 11.5 1/4 @ 125 . So if you compare the manual ZL1 which car & driver just did it was 3.9 60 and 11.9 1/4 mile. Remember the Shelby will hit 60 in first gear so it's as fast as the auto. The Shelby is quicker then the ZL 1 manual according to these two mags. Now on the track the ZL1 is faster with much better rubber all around. The track pack Shelby does have all 3 coolers if ordered for track use.

I compared it to the reg gt350 as it had a back seat like the zl1. apples to apples. We know most of the weight loss to the R is rear seat delete and carbon fiber wheels.

Whats funny is that never happens to the higher end mustangs. And if Ford does release a GT500 that blows the ZL1 out of the water, it will be 2013 all over again. Those ZL1's will be a pretty good buy when its 5-10k cheaper than the GT500. :headbang:

Let's see the zl1 which is newer and faster is selling for less than msrp of 63k and the GT350 which is old and slow is still selling for well above its 57k msrp. Wait did I say that wrong, I must be mistaken..yes Ford is doing something terribly wrong!:frusty::headbang:

What's even funnier is seeing brand new 2015 z28's that didn't sell until the cut the prices by $25k. GM couldn't even give them away.

You people kill me. Ford has no problem selling the GT350/R with markups. GM on the other hand can't even sell all their cars at or under msrp.

Are you saying all the people buying the "slow n old" gt350 is dumb? Because it seems to me that the GT350 is a hot item. Your judging the zl1 as a deal of less than 63k. GM will never match the demand of the gt350.
