I live in Wisconsin and the winters seem like forever. I do have a 4x4 but I know I will still drive the coyote about 3-5 times a month. Anyone else go through harsh winters and plan on still having the thrill of the s550?
If yes, what do you plan on doing to maintain summer shape and no rust?
My 4x4 has no rust but I underbody flush it all the time. I haven't taken my gt to a car wash. Always done by hand.
Thanks

I use a touch-less car wash in my area to flush out the under body once a week. Invest in a good set of winter tires, but understand that it will still get a little tail happy from time to time. The winter/rain mode helps tremendously with keeping the torque on the low end manageable.

To make things simple, I bought some cheap 18" SVE wheels and mounted some winter rubber on it. I bought an extra set of OEM TPMS sensors and had those installed. That way, when I need to switch out to my winter set up, I can just do it in my garage, and then have the alignment checked.

**I don't have the performance package so there are a few 18" wheels that work with my brakes and rotors. If you have the big Brembos, your options will be a bit more limited. My SVE's were on sale and cheap as hell. With rubber and the TPMS, I think I paid $750.**

No plans on driving my GT in the winter here in Southern Ontario. Salt just destroys the car inside and out... stains the carpets, degrades finishes, corrodes metal... winter's for the DD. Mustang's for the track in summer.

Have to agree with 73
I also have a 4x4 here in Buffalo. And that's all I will be driving come November.
It don't matter what you do to your veh in the winter, it will rust.
Probably in area's you don't see. Plus it will be even quicker if you
park the car indoors and drive outside. The constant warming and cooling accelerates
the rusting process. The golden rule, the car gets put away until all the salt has been
washed off the streets in the spring time. Plus the thought of putting the car through
a car wash alone gives me the willys.

I live in Chicago and have drove every mustang I have had in winter without winter tires lol easy ? not by any means but common sense goes along ways. This winter I will be buying winter tires to make life easier. Don't make payments to watch it sit!! :)

get a good set of winter tires on an extra set of rims, and put three bags of water softener salt in the trunk for the winter. You'll be fine. I drove my 2003 Cobra year round for eight years in Waukesha County following that recipe, and it was still in great shape when I sold it.

I plan to drive mine 3-5 days a month too, in NH. I have no concerns about rust if I drive only on dry days.

I daily mine so winter tires will be thrown on and I will manually spray it off as long as I can stand the cold. Eventually I'll do the touchless washes with underbody blast. Last year I would come home and use Adams Waterless wash/detailing spray trying to keep the paint fresh as soon as I hit the garage. That worked pretty well especially for a black car.

Keep it as clean as I can, but I know it will rust eventually. It's a car. It's going to rust. I try to accept it.
