I was looking at all of the suspension Ford performance parts and they are all limited to coupes? What is up with that? I like the Ford parts as they do not void the warranty. My S197 vert had Ford suspension, exhaust, stabilizers, cold air intake and tune?

And why no cold air intake and tune? Is it just a matter of time?

No, no, no. The Ford performance site specifies the coupe only for, for example, the Ford street stability package. What is it about the vert that would make a difference in terms of springs, shocks, etc?

the major would be the support plates put underneath the verts .. so changing them might change the dynamics of the car..

springs shocks can be because of difference in litle architecture of two cars.. as far as tune intake etc are concerned its all same..there is even supercharged vert

I'm a vert. What would ya like to know/do?

Only thing I really see us missing out on for the time being is the jacking support rails
Wow. I would love to see pictures.

I am looking for relatively modest mods, and again, using parts that will not void my warranty. So, I am likely to update the brakes. I have been spoiled by the handling of other cars. The S550 is a big improvement but I might seek some modest stiffness and suspension improvements - I had Ford racing suspension on me 2006 vert and it was just too stiff so I don't want go crazy. And a cold air intake and Ford tune when they become available. But I have been told that the suspension and stiffness parts currently available from Ford seem to be "coupe only." And I did not see a Ford tune and cold air intake out yet.

Obviously you have been talking to some folks with very little experience with the the S550. As has already been mentioned there is very little difference in the performance mods available for the Vert. The exceptions being those which fit under the car and are in the area of the rear bracing. I have in fact called Ford Racing to verify their exhaust systems fit both the vert and the coupe. I did the same for the Curt trailer hitch.

So if you have questions about items, just ask someone here will give you their experience. :ford:

This is true.. like MBRP used to have sep for vert and coupe.. now they have same for coupe and vert , its majorly because many had to redesign for the under of the car.

I had the same issue with my SN95. A direct bolt on Vortex supercharger Ford Racing use to sell had the convertible disclaimer. After owning it a while I discovered that the convertible had a huge 25lb weight behind the front bumper that was in the way of the cold air intake for the blower set up. Ford would never recommend removing the weight, but JLT didn't have a problem telling me to remove it.
Springs had a different rate than the coupes due to weight.

We have Vert owners running a lot of our suspension components.

The only parts that are not compatible from us are the Chassis Jacking Rails.

The engine is the same...so why would you need a separate CAI and tune for a convertible?

I can see the suspension having to be specifically made for the convertible, but I don't think an air filter knows that the car has a top or not...

Ditto! the S550 CAI is all under hood, and isn't everything under the hood the same on conv. and coupe?
