Along with Christmas, December 28th is my birthday, so this time of the year is full on. And I did very well this year. 😁

Highlight being a impact socket set, a Milwaukee 1/2 inch ratchet and a rather appropriate garage bar fridge.

I won't get too deep into it, but this was a tough year for many reasons. I took a 200 mile ride on back roads, ended up in Baton Rouge. It was a beautiful day, and I saw 4 Corvettes and 2 Porches along the way. No gifts this year. First time.

Christmas can be very isolating for many, at a time of the year which promotes togetherness. As an introvert, I find the prospect of the Christmas social season to be daunting, to the point where I tend to reject and repel people. That's pretty screwed up on my part and I'm trying to get better at managing this. The pressure and build up to Christmas always gets me down, as the day actually arrives and then finishes, it's like a massive relief.

This may or may not sound familiar, but please know you are not alone.

Oh god. The forced togetherness with no distractions and no escape. Multiple 4hr dinners with people I barely know in the space of days. The pressure from the wife to ‘look at people and be polite’ ugh. I just wanna go hide.

With the intent of cheering this thread back up again, I was very disappointed to find that our seven year old required zero help from dad (other than applying decals) to build all 791 pieces of the Hogwarts astronomy tower :giggle:

I think the smile says it all, she was very proud :inlove:

Almost as proud as showing off her missing teeth, which she lost at the rate of one a week coming up to Christmas  :giggle:

Most of my Family are small business owners still trying to get their feet back under them. So It was a hallmark card Christmas. I'm fine with that.

Here's my Christmas gift. :sunglasses:
Beautiful, but sad at the same time. Sad, because I find it really disheartening to see how many great automobile creators there used to be, and what unbelievably gorgeous things they were able to make, only to be left today with a couple of soulless corporations that sell a handful of dreary appliances which are all the same save for the badges. :frown:
The world must have been such a beautiful place back then...

What's funny is that they seem to have realized at some point that the title was a bit too ambitious, since 99.999% of us mere mortals will never have the chance to even see these jewels in the flesh, let alone drive them.
So, on the first page they softened it a bit. They changed it to "1001 cars to dream of driving before you die". :giggle:
