Sorry they are boring. Hugely fast, but boring, Sound shit, no skill to drive fast.

Luckily enough to have some friends who had them, one had a 997.1 TT with that god aweful tiptronic box they did, car was boring, just fast and sounded junk.

My other friend had a 997.2 Turbo S PDK he gave me the keys on a wet Oulton Park, I absolutely destroyed everything on the track that day in heavy wet conditions and never once did I feel scared, start sweating and the speed advantage I had was huge.

They are too damn capable for their own good and the turbo kills the flat 6 sound, I far prefer driving the slower C2S and C4S, find them way more engaging than a Turbo, just slower.

Only Porsche for me is a GT3 or a newer GT4 PDK if they do one in future.

I don't blame you really, even with Ford's poor service it was a fun car for the money but the 2018 price increases puts it in a league with better cars. If the 2018 model was the first for global sales, I definitely wouldn't have bought one, I would have probably bought second hand for a similar price.

Join the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club and get their magazine, sorry for calling you Matey Boy or somesuch thing, it's Morrisons ÂŁ15 a litre Bell's whisky to blaim!

If I was buying an F type SVR I'd hold out for one with the ceramic brakes.

To be fair the rust (in JEC magazine) looks to be only on cross members at the rear. A squirt with ACF50 should stop that.
Ceramics are nice but a bonus not requirement, my criteria with SVR was:
- electric blue
- fixed carbon spoiler
- carbon exterior pack

Was the must spec anything else not acceptable colour wise as I wanted it proper naughty and the fact this has a carbon roof is a nice bonus.

If I keep as a keeper owners remove the ceramics and sell, couple of sets on eBay for ÂŁ5000

For now I’ll paint calipers yellow as the red does not go with the blue for me.

I am biased and would go for Evora or Exige instead of F type

Lovely Cars but I’ve got a track car and as a daily the Jag is the better option for me.

You'd have to wait a year or two or three;) but there's always the new TVR Griffith ,same Ford engine tweaked, looks a bit Jaggish,2 wheel drive ,lightweight, somewhere in the ÂŁ80k area, probably bearable depreciation, loved my Tvr.

F-type is a fantastic daily - fun drive to work.

I plan for the Mustang to be my daily and at last ditch the Fiesta

Think you made a good choice binning the 18..the price is just mental

But....jag and depreciation do go hand in hand unless you cherish and can wait thirty to forty years.

Why not just go and get a gtr and pop down to lichfield?

Or you could buy one of these http://r.ebay.com/ht3b3y :headbang:
That I would LOVE! .... but the dollar price is basically what you'd pay in GBP by the time it was shipped and the duty and VAT men had shafted you.

Gibbo, V8 F-Type! .... nice one! I've gone completely the opposite way recently and bought myself a 1966 MGB GT with wires, 3-synchro 'box, 1850 competition engine and a few other goodies. I bloody love it! .... but a V8 F-Type or Mustang it most definitely is not! I do like the MY18 but I'm not sure I'm going to get one .... if they'd have given us a GT350 in RHD then yes, but a standard GT probably not. That SVR has a lot of GT350R about it - the quad pipes, rear spoiler, vented front wings - looks awesome. I saw one at Silverstone a few months back, really nice - enjoy it buddy

F type is a cracking car. Awesome.

Really sad to lose you from the S550 fold Gibbo. The info and advise you have given has been brilliant....even if I dont always agree (tyres!) but you are a part of the 'very early orders' clan and that will always be the case.

Looking forwards to see the F Type at a meet next year.

Yes m8 I shall be attending meets for sure, some here may not like that but tough fucking luck to those, I've made plenty of friends here yourself including. :)

I shall be still here, love things Mustang and I still get PM's from people asking for help/advice to which I will still answer/reply too.

Back to tyres, the Jag has Pzero on it and in typical Pzero fashion even with AWD, the back-end was sliding around on first couple of junction exits on a cold start. Once I wear them out, some PS4S shall be going on!
