Why does Ford advertise Co-Pilot360 features despite not having them?

Took home my GT500 a couple days ago and was disappointed to learn there was no "Lane Keeping System" or "Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking." Multiple spots directly from Ford advertise these features. It can be found on the Shelby GT500 page https://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/models/shelby-gt500/

You could say "oh it's just displaying the standard Mustang features", but then why are multiple Shelby GT500 exclusive items listed? Even under "Packages" it lists Ford Co-Pilot360 with Shelby GT500 Technology Package and Shelby GT500 Carbon Fiber Track Pack.

Under BLIS - Blind Spot Information System, the description is " Part of the Ford Co-Pilot360 Technologies which is standard on all trims. " Even under the 950A Equipment group (which is exclusive to Shelby GT500) it itemizes PCA and Lane Keep..

Oh and the automatic braking is mentioned in the GT500 supplemental info.

Am I missing something or does this seem like false advertising?

Ford is paying Australia owners of the Mach 1 a few thousand each(maybe 4 or 5k if I remember correctly) for false advertising on the Mach 1’s. It advertised the M1 having a torsen diff , adaptive cruise and parking sensors etc…on Aus models.
You might be able to get some money out of Ford.

For the 360 to work you need the front radar, and the other sensors. The Bliss does not use those, I think they use the sensors in the side mirrors. My GT350 did not have any sensors, and I did not expect the GT500 to have any as well.

Honestly I did not even look at my book. I just read the sticker, and looked at what was included.

I never stated they were needed, it's just going from my 2015 Mustang GT Premium to an $85k 2021 Shelby GT500, I expected a few extra features that were listed. I plan to daily drive and not make it a garage queen, so some of the extra features were convenient.

BLIS is an option, part of the $3,000 Technology Package. Definitely sounds like charging extra for safety features standard on most other Fords.

Getting a vehicle equipped with what is advertised and in the Owner's manual is two different things.

Even though Co-Pilot 360 is a new option for 2021 and if mentioned in advertisements or Owner's manuals, doesn't necessarily mean the car is or even will be equipped with that feature.

Go back to the 2016 S550 advertisements where CarPlay was to be one of the new features in the S550... that never happened in 2016 and there was an uproar on this very site about it. Even though it was heavily advertised in Ford literature and mentioned in 2016 Owner's Manuals. Eventually Ford had issued a TSB or SSM about it and if an Owner wanted it, they had to pay for the labor and USB upgrade. M6G members found a way to work around it and bought/installed the USB part and used Forscan to turn the feature on.

So even though a feature is advertised, due to actual production date implementation and production line changes - such features may or may not be in the model on a Dealer's lot.

NOW if the feature is listed on the Window sticker - it is an installed and "as built" feature in that vehicle.

If you were seeking a GT500 with those features, did you not ask or look over the window sticker before buying?

The only reason Australian Owners are getting compensated is because their laws are quite different there regarding what's in print and what is actually put into the vehicle. Over here, such laws protect the Manufacturer because the fine print on all of Ford's advertising literature and Owner's manuals states something to the effect that Ford reserves the right to change any offerings or as built features during the production cycle and model year. That is why trying to sue over such missing items won't ever be a "win" here like it was for the AUS Mach 1 owners. I'm sure Ford's Legal Team will be making vast revisions to their future Euro advertising literature and its wording to avoid future lawsuits.
