side by side, the Camaro looks far more aggressive.
Agreed, but I will say adding similar sized wheels & tires to the Mustang helped out quite a bit. The Camaro rolls on 285 front and 315/30/20 R888R out back for street use where the Mustang had 235/50/18…not exactly fair lol. Now with 275 and 295/35/19 it looks a little better.

I was born in 64 and my first car was a Mustang which my parents bought for me in 1968 - a 65 Mustang pedal car.

I did consider a Camaro, a friend has a 1LE V6 that is pretty cool. But in the end I had to stick to my roots. So I bought a 2017 GT with a 6spd manual

they garaged it for you for 10 years? Or did Tonka do life-size pedal cars back then to go along with the giant dump trucks?

Just noticed this thread, and I'll say that I gave the Camaro about 30 minutes of research before I finalized my decision on the Mustang. I've wanted a Mustang for years, but I thought I'd do a little due diligence first.

Wasn't even close, for so many reasons. I know the Camaro has some advantages, but its disadvantages were much more significant for me.

I test drove 4 ZL1s and all had splitter damage from sitting so low. I then test drove, and the visibility was scary. I felt like I was riding in a bathtub and the windshield was less than 12 inches tall.

There is no way I would want to be defensive driving that car in Miami traffic!

:)I think it looked something like this. Honestly I didn't remember that it was a Mustang but my Wife and Mom were looking at a photo album there it was. My first real car was a 71 Mustang. My 2017GT is my 6th Mustang.

I do not like the look of new generation Camaro. I like Ls engines, good power, simple to maintain. Had an 06 GTO (Holden) with a 6.0 400HP. Not a world beater but a nice 4 seat sedan. To me the Camaro body looks like an over inflated balloon with a tiny stuck on top.

I ordered a 2023 2SS last year in September. Six months later, I was still waiting on an allocation when I stumbled across this 2022 GT being offer at 10% off MSRP and 0% financing. Was a simple choice, really.

Your post is a complete exaggeration of what everyone "thinks" the camaro is like from a visibility standpoint. The windshield has plenty of outward visibility. And unless you are 4 foot tall or 7 foot tall, you will be able to see out the front very easily and normally. The ONLY thing I noticed from my two ZL1s that I actually owned (2018/2021) is that the brow of the windshield is a bit low. And at stoplights if you are the first car at the line, you generally cant see the stoplight above you. I noticed the same in my wrangler too though.

And since 2019 they implemented the rearview mirror camera. It completely eliminates the rearward visibility issues with a normal mirror. Plus since the rearview mirror is basically a monitor now, and not a mirror, you can tilt it way up and out of the way adding much MORE outward front visibility while still seeing your rearward visibility quite well. Side/beltline outward visibility again is fine if you are in the normal range of height. The side windows are a bit short and only irritating when trying to bring a tall drink into the car from a drive through window. You have to tilt the cup back and bring it in the side window to put into the cup holder.

I have extensive experience driving two different ZL1's that I owned. The newer cars are perfectly fine with visibility. And the cars are completely livable for daily driving as long as you find the recaros comfortable. Otherwise if you are a wide person, the recaros are going to cut into your hips/legs. Besides some ergo concerns, the camaros are very awesome cars.

For me it was 2019 when I got my 2015, I kept my eye out for a V8 sports car after having owned 3 FI 4cylinder vehicles previously. I looked at curb weights and wanted a camaro the most, it had the lowest curb weight for a v8 american sports car and I have owned 2 F-bodies long ago. At that time it had to be a 16-18 camaro and non were in my price range I could find within a 4 hour drive. Anything dodge was in my price range but I did not want to drive a boat on the roadways. Only logical option besides that was a mustang so I finally found a good deal in ATL. Then I just wanted the GEN 3 and A10 so I traded my 15 premium gt for my 19. I drove my friends 18 SS last summer and while it wasn't disappointing, It just didn't feel the same as the mustang interior wise...it was too cramped and the trim was too....angle'y 🤣. After that I was glad I didn't go with a camaro. I knew I hadn't missed out on anything.

Trying to pick my words delicately here...

As with any vehicle, no doubt the experience gets better the more you drive it. We can be sensitive about our cars; I understand your sentiments and appreciate the rebuttal. Please try not to be offended when I say, "I didn't like the visibility of the ZL1 when I drove it."

I have a steep driveway and commute daily in Miami traffic. People here try to crash into you on purpose for insurance fraud. The ZL1 was not a good fit for me. I ended up getting a GT350 and after realizing it would require a gas station visit every other day, I got a Fusion hybrid that I daily. Just yesterday I had to dodge a beater pickup truck that intentionally tried to clip the front of my car. Then he did it again.
