What is this referring to? The time you test drove a gen 2 but didn't actually floor it, only to conclude the gen 3 doesn't have proper low-end torque?

Yup, and since the only available car in black had a sold sign inside (found it on a Sunday) there was no point anymore. I moved on...

Based off of the 5.4 that is very huge and heavy.......not a very good example..
The 5.8 block is 1.6" wider than the 5.0 block. We were told that 2.5" difference in engine length is "nothing", so which is it?

........and kill the Romance by turning the Stang into a untouchable appliance.
Well... possibly. Personally I don't want to see electric even though it seems to be way of the future. I prefer the sound and feel of a combustion engine. And while zero torque lag is great for performance, for me thats boring. I like feeling the power come on progressively throughout the RPM range and hear the engine roar. And self driving cars - the day that becomes commonplace it will be a sad day for me. I prefer the experience of driving, hence why I DD my Mustang even in the winter. I only wish I had a second car just to keep some of the mileage off my Mustang.

But hey. We still have V8s. They're not gone. Why does it matter how many Liters the displacement is?

Coyote is 8, then. You said it had gray hairs. So which is it?

Fair enough- the front wheel drive modular motor is 28 and metaphorically starting to show its first grey hairs.

I'm still struggling with where you're getting this idea.

Designed (originally) for front wheel drive and used in the Lincoln as a front wheel drive car at one point.

And yes I didn’t get it until this morning but it’s true.

Except that's just flat wrong (as usual). The Towncar and Crown Vic are RWD.

My good friend, you must go all the way back to the press releases and hype from Ford during 1990 - 1991.
They are the one's that made light of this fact.

Not wrong, spot on correct.
The bore size was for emissions and the bore spacing was to allow for FWD applications.
The motor was designed for double duty.

I thought they used it one year? I’ll have to check?

Trick question:

I just said Lincoln and not Lincoln Town Car. The Lincoln Continental did have a FWD V8 version. It was a 4.6 L In-Tech V8.

Nissan runs DOHC........
Of course I would like to know the rules tweaks that were required to slow down the DOHC engine and make the 2v's competitive, but it's worth noting that the Nissan engine makes about 35 more hp according to online sources.

Edit: Apparently, the series limits the peak and average power. 2v or 4v v8 can achieve the limit, so the 4v advantage is nullified by the rules. As I said....
