I tested the injection system out again today. I noticed that the meth/water controller has a fine tuning knob on it to set the dutycycle. Each setting is 7.5% with the minimum setting at 1 is 32.5% and 10 being 100%. I increased it to the 7th setting for 77.5% dutycycle.

With meth/water injection: Setting 1
IATs 100 degrees with outside temp at 82 degrees
Total Timing: 17.5
A/F: 11.23

With meth/water injection: Setting 7
IATs 95 degrees with outside temp at 75 degrees
Total Timing: 17.3
A/F: 11.12

Next I am going to dial it back to setting 4 which is 55% dutycycle. This is something that a lot of people get wrong with meth injection. They inject too much and you lose power.

I hope to start working on and finish my new tune next week. After I finish my new tune, I will schedule time on a dyno. I'm looking to do 9 pulls. 3 on the old tune, 3 on the new tune and 3 with new tune + meth/water. I still won't be tuned for meth.

I am almost finished with the install. I am just waiting for a roush vent pod to mount the flow gauge.

Without more timing and leaner lambda, your just not going to see a gain. Your base timing can hold at least 3deg more it looks like before meth inj :)

Thanks Whipple SC! I have begged Jon Lund to increase my timing. He just won't do it. :frusty:

Talking about purchasing methanol, I used to buy 100% pure at Co-op. Farmers use it in tractor tires. It has been a few years but I am sure you can still buy it there.

Yeah bro, I'm pissed! Around $1000 with ngauge and revisions to be given a tame tune. I'm either going with Ken Bjonnes or Whipple's calibration. Just depends on who gets back to me first. But in regards to meth on a ProCharger, injected right before the TB.
I thought Ken B tuned for Lund? The only reason why I'm inquiring is because I'm in the same boat. The only way I can get more WHP out of my current set up is to switch tuners. I would go with the Whipple tune, but I'm running catless with bigger injectors.

Is Ken doing his own thing now?

Yup, you are in the same boat with me. Ken opened his own shop and is remote tuning my car. http://www.pbdyno.com/home.html

The best time to do is call him. But, he left Lund about a month ago. From what I have see, he is putting out faster 2015s than Lund. Burnin4 is trapping 135+ on only 11psi with Ken's tuning. I haven't seen Lund tune anything like that. Lund does have great custoner service and is very easy to get revisions through their support online but if you are chasing power, call Ken.

I'm probably not going to have him tune mine for meth. I did 5 back to back 3rd gear pulls today and logged them. I'm getting the best logs with my meth system set at the lowest duty cycle setting. When I turn the meth off, my timing drops a little and A/F ratio gets richer. I'm going to see if Ken can make my ecu adjust more depending on octane. But, I am trying to get his tune finished this week and made dyno my car on Saturday. If it doesn't happend Saturday then I might have to wait until April because I am going to be on vacation.

Thanks, I'll see if I can speak with Ken tomorrow. Would love to get more out of my tune, and I'm unwilling to add cats and drop injector sizes. Do his tunes still utilize nGauge, or am I going to need another device?

It's best to speak with Ken in regards to the tuning device. Just tell him that Emery referred you. But, I agree, it is tough downsizing the injectors and buying cats. I was quoted $600-$900 for just the cats from Kooks. Then, my 1000cc injectors were just installed a month ago lol.

I dyno tested my meth set up this last Friday. The #6 nozzle is quenching the burn. Did 703hp and 532tq. The #5 nozzle did 724hp and 539tq. This was on 91 octane fuel with the 58lb injectors and 3.625 pulley. Though it is running out of fuel up top. It is time for some 72lb injectors and BAP.

Yet before meth injection I made 735hp and 543tq on 100 octane. All of my pulls were around 4600 to 5200 DA and 70 degrees. So the meth did help.

Awesome bro!!! Yeah, just looking at the logs shows me that it will help. I just haven't had a chance to dyno it yet. I'm doing my logs for Ken Bjonnes right now. After logging his base tune, I compared it to my previous logs....WOW!!! Night and day difference.

I am running Whipple's tune also.
I wish that I would have gone with Whipple's tune in the beginning. Lund's was just too conservative.

This is on 91 octane fuel, 58lb injectors and 3.625 pulley using the #5 nozzle and Boost Juice on the Snow Performance Progressive controller.

Wow, thank you bro!!!

I should be finished wih my tune from Ken this week. Looking at my logs, my previous tuner was leaving a lot on the table.
