It would require custom tuning to make power. Without tuning it will make you lose power.

I'm adding one on mine. I'll post when I get the results.

I lost 20rwhp on the dyno with the meth on the lowest setting. I did back to back test on the same dyno/same day. I wasn't tuned for meth.

I understand you have to have your car tuned for methanol, which is what I'm going to do. Last car tuned(93 Cobra) with meth on 17psi I gained almost 100rwhp. Helps out a lot!!!!!

Oh yeah, if you tune for meth you can gain a lot of power. I had meth injection on a STI and EVO, both gained a lot from it. Most tuners are now very reluctant to tune for it unfortunately. I talked to Lund about it and he refused. I then talked to Ken and he didn't refuse but recommend to just do e85. I just use my setup to reduce the chances of knock when it is extremely hot outside.

Lund had no problem with me using methanol when I asked them. I'm just waiting to finish the install and then do some datalogs for them.

Really? Wtf, I should post his response to me in regards to meth injection. Was it Lund Sr or Jr?

Jon Jr told me that there was no way he would ever tune for meth injection. Then he attempted to lecture me on how dangerous it was lol. I had to educate him on how this is my third meth setup and if he has ever heard of Snow's safe injection setup.

There is an absolutely easy way to tune the cars to make them safe with Meth. And if the pump never comes on, then the tune runs what it would have ran anyway, to keep the car safe.

My .02 on keeping a meth car safe....

1) Run 49/51 mix meth to water.
- Keeps you from having a massive fire in case of a line failure
- Gives you plenty of cooling, and added octane
- Doesn't effect AFR much at all, since its not a "fuel source"

But then again, I don't run crazy amounts of boost over what it would stock.

So if the car was on 7-8 psi on pump gas
I would run 9-10 on the meth (with reduced timing for strait pump)
Then when the Meth turns on, it adds the correct amount of timing.

Even without running massive boost, always have had a great amount of power to be gained that way.... 30-50hp easy. (depending on car, dyno, and temp) Of course people go crazy like these C7 Corvette guys, and make like 700-800-900 (and now 1,200) rwhp with cars living on meth as a fuel source for the power past the 650 mark. Now THAT is a time bomb.

Snow performance has a safe injectors system that if the system stops injecting for any reason then it can open a bypass valve or wastegate. I have it hooked up to a flow gauge that I mounted in a vent. However, I have ran meth on multiple cars. I had 80k miles on a meth setup on my EVO and it was tuned for it.

Yes, I would say if you are running highly elevated boost levels that require the meth to be absolutely safe, then the "safe injection" system is a must.
