I just purchased a stage 2 for my 2020. I know many in hear are running the Whipple tune with good luck. What is everyone’s thought on their tune? My plan was to run it as the kit comes. Was mainly looking for something safe, reliable with good drivability.

When I ran the whipple tune it was great. Drivability was excellent and the car made good power. Passed Illinois emissions with flying colors. No complaints with it at all. Only reason I changed is because I put a Magnum XL transmission in the car. The whipple tune can't be changed, so it would not work with the different gear ratios of the magnum.

Thanks. Someone on FB claimed the whipple tune are 3 pistons so it had me wondering. I know there are a ton of variables and some had good luck while others have bad. It was a first I’ve heard about their tune because I always thought it was conservative.

If you're not really shooting for big hp numbers and are ok with the power it comes with as a package setup, I would say the Whipple tune is great, it is indeed a bit conservative so don't expect it to break any records, but that is exactly what it is designed for, safe and reliable.

If you have any questions about the tune, or if you ever are interested in opening it up and making more power, we sell remote tunes as well. Lethalperformance.com

Whipples tune is going to be more conservative over a custom tune that is dialed into your car specifically; but I wouldn't say you sacrifice reliability or driveability. Whipple is able keep the kit CARB compliant for customers in CARB restricted states that still want to get more power out of their Coyote as well; so they do leave a little on the table to meet these strict restrictions.

For guys that aren't chasing higher hp, lowest ET's or are all stock but want to add a little extra power the Whipple tune does extremely well!

3 years and counting on my '17 with the Whipple tune.

15k miles since the install. Car mainly only goes out to the race track (1/2 mile from my house), and a few 200 mile out of town trips last summer. Otherwise, it's all in town romps, and 1/4 mile pulls less a 1700 mile road trip across 3 states and 4 different dragstrips on Rocky Mountain Race Week last year.

The package just works.

We ran in 100+ degree heat every day for a week on RMRW, car didn't skip a beat. Heatsoak? Never heard of her.

I have the Whipple tune and a Magnum XL. Lots of things are possible with HPTuners...

Are you running a stage 1 or 2 tune?

I’m running the Whipple tune, stage 2, in my 350. When it was being dyno’d he was telling me there were only a couple very minor things he would change, but it wasn’t worth for me considering I just wanted conservative and just using pump super. He did say it was $200 for him to get the coupon to crack open the Whipple tune and make adjustments.

You’ve got about 25-30 weeks until you get the whipple why are you even worried about the tuning lol. Unless you ordered it from someone who has it in stock..

Save up for a catch can or a better exhaust. It’s gonna be a while. Trust me I know. Worth the wait though lol

mines got the whipple tune,,,5 years running no issues
makes plenty of power.....If you want more power you will need
a fuel pump, larger injectors and a new tune...To me 30HP more is not
worth 5000 bucks for that

I'm also running the whipple tune and it's a good tune as other have mentioned about driveability and reliability. The tune does runs rich which makes for some great exhaust sounds and that's a plus for me. I'll probably be switching this spring though for more power.

I'm not looking to go E85, maybe way down the road. Are you still on the stock cats? The cat protection is one of the reasons I decided to go with the whipple tune.
