I’m considering purchasing an ‘18 GT 350 with a plan to install a Whipple blower. Can those of you who have done this please chime in with the good/bad/ugly?

Don't quote me on it, but I've seen conversations around this site pertaining to the tremec and it's lack of ability to handle anything much more than stock power levels.

2017 GT350 now gone to a great home.
That’s a lot of car for that money. Blowing something at startup. My wife and neighbors would run me out of town if I brought that home. Ha

I have a Whipple on my 17 GT350.
I got the tuner kit and have a Lund tune and Injector Dynamics 1050 injectors on E85. I also went from a 3.75 upper pulley to a 3.5. Should be right around 12# boost
It took some time to get the tune right, but its nailed down now, and the car is a pleasure to drive
I have only had the blower on a short time (250 miles?)
So far so good. The car is a missle

Haven't heard of one credible TR3160 mechanically destructive failure though. If people were loading up their cars with slicks n' skinnies, maybe that would be a different story. But it's not happening. 1. because owners seem to pretty much get that it's just silly and 2. would be that, well, they don't fit.

I'm sure it's stronger than people give it credit for. Some say that because the trans is smaller and lighter than an MT82 that the gear sets are more prone to failure. I don't know, Fat Fabhouse cars at 1000RWHP seem to go down the standing runway just fine......what a novel, eh?

I really like the idea of the whipple with this engine, because it fills in the lack of torque at the low end and then keeps it going up top. Maybe not as big a peak number as you can do with a turbo, but the drivability is more my style.

At one point you needed to raise the hood, the strut bar, or lower the engine I believe. Has that been solved with the newer whipple designs? That would be one reason I would stay away.

Also, the added weight on the front of the car isn't ideal, but in terms of power I think it is a great way to go.

I was also wondering about the latest whipple and the size. I'd ditch the strut bar before lowering the engine. Does anyone know how much the whipple actually adds in weight?

Bloody Hell...if I did not have my car already I would be all over this. Plus I love the colour :) Updated sound, nice rims, big tires, headers, clear braw and coated....I probably missed something. That is a hell of a deal.

Nice! Did you have a shop do some dyno pulls? Guessing you might be at 675-700 RWHP?

12lbs, big injectors, E85, and a good tune? Try more like 800 PLUS. The Voodoo loves boost, contrary to what all the internet mechanical engineering PhD's will tell you.

I could totally do the Whipple install myself but the oil pump gears and the crank sprocket I don't know about that.
