My free service is coming to an end and I was going to change the engine oil my self. Is there a brand and viscosity that I should go with. Is there a difference between supercharged and n/a engines. Car is 2017 model. Thanks in advance.

What's your OCI? What type of driving (Lots of short trips, lots of highway, track, etc?).

U.S. Owner's Manual Supplement:
Use Motorcraft SAE 5W-50 full synthetic or an equivalent SAE 5W-50 full synthetic oil meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C931-B.

Not tracking the car. Mixture of city/highway driving.

First, refer to your owner's manual to see what your call calls for, as you're not in the U.S., so our owner's manuals don't necessarily apply to you.

If it's 5W-50, pick any of the usual suspects.

The Engine Filler Cap states 5w-20, however that is the US Spec, the Australian Spec is 5W-30 (Full Synthetic).

Australia is hotter than the US.

I use 0w40 full synthetic in my 3.7. I don't drive hard and change oil and filter Napa brand every 7,000 miles. That seems to work for me. I use it in all my stuff.

I have been using this one. https://www.royalpurple.com.au/store/p/sae-5w-30-royal-purple-motor-oil-5-litre
For now I supply the dealer workshop with my own oil and get a subtraction off their scheduled servicing rate. Royal Purple also have a performance 5W-30 https://www.royalpurple.com.au/store/p/hps-sae-5w-30-high-performance-street-motor-oil-5-litre which has a higher level of zinc and phosphorus but they recommend waiting until the warranty is finished. This is probably not relevant to me anyhow because I always add Ceratec after an oil change.

Ordered a further 20ltr today, for an upcoming service (& for the wife's Focus ST). Have used the Royal Purple since the first oil change and HPS after the custom tune.

Interested in what made you start using Ceratec? have you noticed any benefits?
