@hackney i just had a Herrod Oil cooler, great looking piece of kit but i had it removed as it was causing supercharger like whine. i was debating the Harrop unit but i might just stick to the factory unit and save the $1800 for something else. its such a PITA when you're trying to do the right...
UPDATE
I dropped her in yesterday for Herrod to temporally removed their system and fit the factory unit.
I'm both pleased and disappointed to say that with the factory unit refit, the noise has gone! Its taken 6 weeks of not using her, 3 trips to Herrod (with one more to pick her up) and a...
Just want to say thanks to everyone on here, i had the same issues, fitted the RERS36PK and problem solved!
For anyone in Australia, i purchased them from Rolan Australia on eBay

UPDATE
I went to Herrod this morning and Rob Herrod took my car for a test drive, confirmed he could hear the noise and next steps is from them to confirm if it is the oil cooler kit by refitting a factory unit and testing to see if the noise is eliminated.
Great bloke and has instantly made me...
Quick update, I spoke to Herrod again this morning and they assured me that they had fit 100s of oil coolers to mustangs and had no issues. I asked if that if I choose to go down the route of starting pulling the engine apart would they do it instead of a ford dealer, short answer was no.
Fast...
Thanks for the reply. FM is 2015 - 2017 Mustang. FN is 2018+
Yeah im scratching my head with this one too. Im tempted top try some kind of oil additive to see if that could help.
As above its currently running Shell 5w40, previously i was using Casterol 5w30.
Thanks for the reply!
Yeah its...
Hi all,
My engine has developed a whine and short of pulling the engine apart Ford cant work out what's causing it.
I can confirm its not the AC pump, Water Pump or Alternator as i have had both aux belts off.
Ford techs have had a stethoscope on the engine and can confirm its coming from the...
Hi all,
I have for sale 4 x Mustang GT 19" allow wheels and tyres.
Come balanced and with tyre pressure sensors.
Alloys are sub 100km and tyres have 15k of wear. (measurements in pictures.)
Essentially my mustang has silver wheels and fancied trying black rims but decided against them but...
Iāll double check tomorrow but Iām pretty sure itās all oil. Itās in for its yearly service so Iāll ask the dealer. Worried it may have damaged seals etc.
The diff is the easiest out of the two to change.
Make sure you check you can open the āFillā plug before you drop the oil.
I used Amsoil Severe Gear Oil 75w90 which Amsoil confirmed already contained the required friction modifier.
I just carried out the first oil change on the gearbox and diff (2017 GT Manual Performance Pack) and measured the quantities that came out.
Gearbox 2.6L came out which is correct.
Diff 2.1L came out, I only put in 1.6L as that's what Amsoil suggested.
Has anyone else had this issue?
Just done a gearbox and diff oil change at 19,000km
Well worth doing the diff as the amount of metal particle build up on the magnetic plugs was a lot more than I was expecting. My only concern was that there was 2.1L of oil from factory in the diff and the specs say 1.6L.
Gearbox wise, smoother...
Great idea! Itās the same for me here in Oz, extra light help spot kangaroos on the road. We only get the 25w HID headlamps compared to your 35w. Let me know if you work anything out!
Love the work JohnDoe, Iāve been looking into this this for awhile too but here in Australia we have hardly any choice. I would love to a happy medium with a slight lift and AT tyres like Porsche Safari style.
have you may any more progress?
