I have no recommendations for brushes but found taking the wheels off then cleaning with a microfiber cloth (single use for each wheel - wipe, rinse, fold for the first go around) after soaking down with water and spraying with Ford Wheel and Tire cleaner is the 'easiest' and most thorough way to go. C-quartz on the wheels make a big difference in reducing dust deposits.

I have been using Microfiber Madness Incrediflair mitt for spokes, and face of the wheel
and Microfiber Madness Incredibrush flat and Daytona/EZ plastic bristles brush for the barrel, but I agree with the original post - plastic bristles leave marring on the barrel. I don't have the marring effect on the face of the wheel since Incrediflair is basically the best I could find.

My question is.. could anyone find a brush that would go in the barrel, between barrel and the brake piston. It is extremely narrow there, and I can't get anything in to agitate the barrel there. Do not want to leave part of the barrel unclean, and don't want to move my car every time I wash. Any ideas? Maybe wheel whoolie mini?

thanks,

I have an old cotton wash mitt I reserve just for cleaning wheel and just use it. Mitt the wheel rims and spokes down, wring it out and go in between the spokes and wipe the barrel clean except at the calipers I can only get between it and the spokes. I figure - get it on the next wash when the wheels will probably park with different clocking. Or you could roll the car a bit but I'm not that picky.

I bought a bottle of that McGuire's ceramic wax/rinse that just came out and applied it recently on a portion of my car including one wheel. Seems to be pretty good although I have no idea how durable it is yet - easy to apply and you can do it as often as you want. But - one thing I noticed the last time I washed the car was that front wheel I applied it to cleaned up and looked a lot sharper than the other 3 that I didn't apply it to. I've read about ceramic coatings on wheel and helping to keep them clean or easier to clean. Looks like that is probably true.

While we are on this subject. What is the appropriate wheel cleaner for the OEM Carbon Fiber wheels on the GT350R?

To date, I have only found the Ford Wheel and Tire Cleaner (ZC37A) that Tank mentioned.

Other thoughts or experience with this cleaner?

Thanks,

Mike

They are painted and clear coated I believe, so any wheel cleaner that is safe on painted/clear coated wheels should be fine

Brush Hero...best $20 I ever spent.
Haha! Wow, I actually worked for this company last year and wondered if anyone had heard of it. I went to SEMA 2018 with them to show the products. There were a lot of concerns from customers about whether it would scratch your wheels, but you really just need the appropriate brush for a given wheel finish and you're good to go. Not the perfect product, by any means, but it can speed up the wheel cleaning process.
