Hi,

Has anyone thought of using something like this :

https://www.rvinyl.com/Custom-Ford-Wheel-Bands.html

I am specially thinking of those expensive R wheels... But I would be keen on putting a set on mine. All these roads and potholes and sharp curb edges will get me one day.

Saw them in person at SEMA. Was not impressed. They looked like colored weather stripping. Then there is the gap where the two ends come together. Just didn't look very good.

Most performance tires nowadays have a lip a rubber designed for this purpose. But I will tell you this, no strip will protect low profile tires/wheels unless it is about half inch thick lol
Better of being extremely careful. Not to mention the hell the wheels catch on the track!!!!

the stock supersports are great for protecting the rims. I've clipped a curb at speed and rims are fine.

Stock rims, yes. 6GR wheels, no longer due to R spec , which means they are a bit stretched (wider rim) ... as soon as you touch a curb, it's gone.

I saw them as well (maybe different brand) does not look good. If you do get it try and match the rim color.
