I would get a GT and Mod the fuck out of it. im running a GT with a 2.9L Whipple, with 10k in the suspension, another 5 in the drive train, with everything else I've done, I blow the doors off GT350s. Yes I know in the long run, the Gt350 will be worth more to a collector, but im not selling my GT, im keeping it. I have already crushed the dreams of two GT 350 owners... I love my GT

Until you need to keep up with one for more than a lap or two. ;)

I agree with option 2 myself. I sold my '15 GT 50th and am only getting a GT350 now after we bought a house and have more in order. After I stood back and thought about it I was 30 and renting still while making an extra car payment on a car I hardly drove since I had a truck as well. I also have 3 little boys though so a house needed to be higher on my list over a car we can't all fit into at once anyway...

I used to crush stock 5.0 guys dreams with my modded '16 F250 Diesel 4x4 before I installed a massive lift and tires... 43psi will make that truck scoot! Until we got to a corner :frusty: I know I'm going to enjoy my GT350 way more than I would have my GT even if I modded the snot out of it. I still vote for house

swedensky when you say they buy your car back. Do they give you the exact amount you paid? Including taxes title? Lets say you paid and ADM, if you show proof of paid ADM will they give you that money back too? Just wondering if they give you the exact amount back.

Buy a house.
What he said.

Mortgage guy might tell you to sell the GT350 before buying the house for income/debt ratio. If you can pay off the GT350 before buying the house, then go for it.

You're 25, so you could have house paid off @ 55 years or sooner. With a small monthly IRA, you could have 500K by age 60. Don't let no hood rat come and take it. Knock out about 25-30 hood rats and then settle down with a nice girl. Winning!!

Congrats on getting them to buy it back (or offer). After having my engine replaced in my car, and other minor issues, I tried to have mine bought back with no luck. This is my first American car, so I don't have the Mustang connection you have, therefore I'd say get the money for it and give yourself some time to think about what you want to do. Especially since you have another car to use in the meantime. You could have just as many issues with another GT350. There are many low mile used ones for sale if you really wanted another one, you could have another one and possibly have some cash on top.

Part in bold above is the real challenge. But it is true, go through several GF's to even begin to understand what a nice girl really is.
(Hood Rat - had to wiki that one!)

My advice for anyone is to save the maximum tax-deductible 401k/IRA contribution if you can. 1) You are saving by paying yourself first, 2) you keep more of it away from the Feds, and 3) it should grow over time in the market. The goal is to not be poor, sick, and bankrupt from medical bills when you are old. Viva Costa Rica!

I was 23 when I purchased my Shelby. But I bought a house first.

If I would have bought the Shelby first they would have had me pay off the Shelby before giving me a loan.

Now I'm 24 and I'm glad I did it this way.

Reply to All (or most)

Without quoting every individual post I'll try and reply here to questions and statements, and then to PMs. Thank you to all who have posted.

R Model
As far as an R goes. I'm not sure if they'll be able to locate me one at a decent price. From what I understand, I still have to pay the difference in price between my vehicle and a new one if I don't match the original car/contract. I am not planning on looking for an R if they leave it to me to find the new vehicle as I don't have the time to scour for that deal even with the advanced resources I have over most of you. I also am not sold on having an R because I want to mod some things that on an R I would want to leave original.

Buy a GT
I agree with the GT350 owners here, that I will not have the same joy or experience in a GT (supercharged or not). But I will still enjoy it. I hate to say it but having the most HP does not excite me, so waiting for another GT500 type model isn't on the top of my list either. Not to say I wouldn't be happy but just that I like the exclusive, first time flat plane, exhaust note type of feeling the GT350 gives me. There will always be a faster car, I'm not playing that game.

Buy a Home
For the home buying/savings/responsibility:
I'm 25, I started my 401k last year and should be close or succeed in maxing it out (per my company) for both last year, and this one. I know where I want to live when I start a family and it is not in the cards if I buy right now. If I buy a house now it will be sold for the house I really want in the next 5-10 years or it will be rented out at that point. For most people that makes sense but it does scare me with the ever changing economy and unknown of the next president to buy a house that I don't need or plan on keeping right now. That could just be me talking myself out of it to get a car.

Replacement GT350
I don't know the exact process on Replace vs Refund from Ford and am still waiting on answers but I guess I could do the refund and save it until I make my decision. Cancel my wheel order and out the money aside as well. I just am having a hard time in general. In a perfect world I would keep my car with no issues and continue paying on it as I love it (yes, a 2016 tech!) except when I get in 50% of the time I have things malfunctioning. Just doesn't make sense to pay that much and not be happy every time I get in.

My dealership is very high in sales for Mustangs and we get quite a few allocations, I don't know who to talk to or how to go about asking for an extra allocation. I do vaguely remember when two of our RS's earlier this year were damaged at the plant and we received extra allocations on those for still taking them.

Current Financial Responsibilities
I don't mind my car payment right now, it's not a stress to make every month (except for not being happy with the car in its state). I have a payment on my truck also, so if I got a Raptor I'd end up over my current truck payment but no car payment - still saving money.

Buying "another" Lemon
I'm not worried about "buying another GT350 after having a lemon." I've had 8 Fords, 6 being Mustangs and never a lemon. Never even a problem car. I see a lot of QC issues here and there but overall I'm completely happy with the car...just not this exact one. I never have been to the road course in this car or any other, so experiencing that would probably only solidify my choice to be in another. The car is extremely capable and all I do right now commute on good weather days, occasional drives out of town just to enjoy the sound and feel.

Refund Process
As far as the refund goes, I am waiting to hear back but as I understand they pay off my loan (including anything I financed except cancellable services ie warranty, gap, maintenance etc) and then they pay me all my down payment and monthly payments back minus a calculated mileage use fee for miles driven before first service repair. Still waiting to find out the specifics on this one. I paid no ADM, so I'm not sure, but would assume they would pay it off regardless.

Hoodrats
Not that its anyones business (LOL!) but I have no more interest in the hoodrats and plan on marrying the GF I have currently (things may change, I know). She LOVES the Shelby and drives it 20-30% of the time we're together.

Partout (Please don't PM me - if I don't get another car I will post things for sale:) )
For the vultures, lol, IF I do not get another GT350/R:
I will be selling (parts I can remember off top):
-Kooks LTs w/ ORX
-Steeda G Trac
-Steeda Jacking Rails
-MGW
-Steeda Spring
-JLT Brake Res Cover
-Diode HIDs, Switch backs, Interiors, Reverse, Trunk, Red Rear Quarter Lights, Plate Lights
-NIB Diode Demon Eyes, RGWBA DRL boards, and Clear Rear Quarter Lights
-Euro Taillights
-Used LU47 Injectors
-SCT X4 (my Shelby is its 3rd pairing so it may not have another left, cant remember if its 3 or 4?)
-Track Pack Spoiler
-Ford Performance Blank Decklid Panel (no dimples)

Thanks for all the responses and keep them coming! I will now start replying to PMs haha

Buy a house. You can get a GT350 next year if and when finances allow.
Delayed gratification....and patience...something that is greatly
missing in today's world. Everyone wants everything now.

I sacrificed everything to get my first house, within 2 years the housing market in
1991, was collapsing and by 1996 I was sitting in a house worth about $100K
and owed $140K, though I was the biggest fool, and came close to dumping it on
the bank. But held in there and bought my neighbors house in 98 at the bottom
for a song, and rented out the first house, I really thought I had gone bonkers then !

Long story made short, I bought many more rental houses since then, rode
the ups and downs, had my tenants pay for my rental houses, and dumped
as much as I could in my retirement accounts as I could.

Buy a house, max out the retirement accounts, and the toys will come later....
