What Will SVT be Powered By?

I wouldn't think an all aluminum 6.2 would weigh much more than a twin turbo 5.0. but cramming a 6.2 in an s550 does seem really unlikely. That was nothing more than wild speculation fueled by my appreciation for a powerful and proven very durable engine.

The idea of an NA Voodoo GT350 and a boosted Voodoo GT500 makes more sense in regards to budget and simplicity

I am not saying that the above quoted info was not accurate. It just was not consistent with my experience and observations.

I don't need a 6.2L TT motor. A TT'd 5.0 with 700hp would do me just fine

I'd much rather have a ~500hp 5.2 NA V8 that revs to 8500 rpm. Like an E92 M3 on steroids.

I want the street car to be the same as the race car like the current Boss S/R. There is a reason they don't race a Shelby.

Yea I'm not buying it either.

Confirming the GT350 is one thing, but a Ford partner going into that level of detail on company secrets during a tour? I refuse to believe they are that stupid.

You would be surprised at how much information gets around. Most engineers are pretty excited about a whole series of launches in this general time period (not just mustang, new F150 and updated Focust ST with new engine), so it's not uncommon for people to accidentally let something leak (not to media of course, by leak I mean just amongst friends).

Nah I'm no where near powertrain. But I would be legitimately shocked if they did; it would go completely against what the ST line stands for (hot hatches have a very different reputation in Europe than the US).

I will say this much, if you've ever driven a Focus ST, you would never want an automatic in there anyways. That car is so much fun - much more fun than a '14 or older GT I'll even add (the one I drove wasn't even stock, but the weight made it pretty boring in the city).
