Mainly because gas is cheap right now and with the reduced mileage you get from the lower octane you really aren't saving money.87 octane only. Why pay more?
It's about 40hp at mid rpm range vs 5hp at peak. There is no way you loose 40 HP using 87 vs 91 or 93. My 2008 Bullitt is rated for 305 HP on 87 and 315 with 91 or 93. If it was more than 10-15 HP loss on the GT or the Eco boost I'd be really surprised.
Turbocharged engines are much more sensitive to octane variation than mildly-tuned V8's. The PCM undoubtedly dials back boost as well as timing with 87.There is no way you loose 40 HP using 87 vs 91 or 93. My 2008 Bullitt is rated for 305 HP on 87 and 315 with 91 or 93. As title states what octane do you use for DD?
My Mustang has been sitting with my parents for the better part of 3 months 9 I've been deployed or moving to NC from NV) and I will finally be able to drive my '16 GT daily.
What is "top tier." Shell with V-power? Chevron with Techron?93, and top tier fuel only
