And Carruth after murdering (he blocked her car while a friend shot her four times with a .357) his pregnant GF and causing permanent brain damage to his child (who somehow survived) was released from prison back in 2018. WTF? How does that even happen?

I have had pretty good luck with AAA, but yeah I have waited close to an hour for AAA helping stranded motorist. Like us, their work load varies.

June2021, main shifter bolt vibrated out. Called AAA, they essentially said “we’ll call you back when we find a driver” keep in mind I’m on the frickin 405 in downtown LA, middle of everything and everyone, right?

wrong…after waiting two hours and calling again I walked my @$$ to the nearest parts store, bought a floor jack, and a box of assorted cotter pins. Got an Uber back (cause who wants to carry a floor jack any distance). Put that pig in the air, jammed the linkage full of cotter pins and drove my butt home.

the NEXT DAY a tow truck driver calls me to see if he needs a flatbed to tow me

That is a pretty heroic roadside repair! Reminds me of every road trip my family took in the 80s...

Water, I got stuck on the side of the highway in Las Vegas when the fuel pump went out. That one bottle I had in the glovebox helped me through a 107°F afternoon sun.

Nothing.

Tom's Repair will tow my car 24/7. Never needed that in 9 years but they'd do it. I had my daughters car towed at 11pm one time and they where there in 30 minutes

In mine I have a full size spare, tire plug kit, scissor jack, 1/2-inch drive 24-inch breaker bar with deepwell "impact" socket for lug nuts, tire pump, array of fuses (make sure the right type(s), fire extinguisher, large umbrella, and portable battery jump starter. When I go on a trip I add a small tool kit.

I'd throw in a set of mechanic coveralls as well.

Besides my spare tire, a piece of paper with a tow truck service number.

A portable battery jump starter, wheel nut socket(probably wont do any good), maybe a scan tool.
