So apparently the only car that I own that doesn't have an emergency tool kit in the trunk is the car I drive every day (2015 GT). I've only been marginally happy with the Wal-Mart kits I keep in my classics. Before I buy another one, does anybody have a recommendation for a good, economical ($cheap$) tool kit that they keep in their trunk? I don't want to be able to break down the engine on the side of the road, but if there's a perfect kit out there for basic stuff (like replacing a battery, etc.) with the right socket sizes I'd appreciate the recommendation.

Thanks!

Harbor Freight man. Piece something together in a small tool box. Cheap tools and they are durable for somebody that doesn't make a living off of using tools.

I have never run across a kit with what I need.
i love the 100 part kits that have 75 sockets.
I agree with EBM. Go.to HFS, buy a small tool bag and fill it with what you think you need.
and you can always add to it.

You can probably get an AR15 for $650. Very valuable tool for road rage.

Thanks for the responses. I ended up going to Harbor Freight this weekend and buying a small mechanic's tool kit, and I'll add to it as I see the need. FYI, if anybody's interested, this is the one I walked away with. It comes with cheapo drywall anchors among other things, but nothing's perfect.
