Its a sports car not a work truck. Look at all that added weight. Its a fairly new car and its so unreliable that you need to carry tools everywhere you go?

My 50lb hitch receiver weighs more than every mod combined

Well when everyone else is removing spare tires and carpeting; you are adding weight. Way to make your own path

Feel the hate.
Listen, I agree that it is a strange post. But basically he is a "handyman" for his buddies. Something goes wrong at their home and they call him. Why do they call him? Apparently they do not have tools of their own.
anybody can have tools, its knowing how to use them, that is the hard part :D

My only tool is my cell phone with the number of my tow company, local police and the ford dealer if something happens. :p

I have also been known to be called a tool but that is another story for another time. :D

Might want to read the first page.

It's whatever Wesley wants it to be. If he wants to put a few tools in the trunk for his cycling hobby, or help friends do projects, more power to him.

lol so many people hating...

I think it's an awesome idea. You never know when you might need something and clearly this isn't a track only car so a few extra lbs is nothing...

I keep a small ratchet/wrench set and some other miscellaneous items in a drawstring Bridgestone bag in the spare tire/air pump area that I got from Barrett Jackson a few years ago haha

This might be something I look into

OP, I get it, I carry a small tool bag in my trunk. Not specifically for Mustang repairs, but for those instances where I might need a tool for something. Nice clean set up.

I like what you’re doing.
I tote tools in mine all the time, that don’t have anything to do with repairing the car. it seems I’m regularly somewhere and able to help someone with something. For Day to Day the extra weight doesn’t impact anything for me.

One of the best feelings is carrying new mods to the car without bringing any tools with you, because you know you have everything you need to install it in that tiny box

Good for you OP! There was a time I too used to carry my toolbox around in the trunk of my car ('78 Opel Manta) for the very same reasons you are. First car I ever owned after I joined the U.S. Navy. Now, I'm lucky enough to carry what I need to help folks in my F350. Keep up the good work Wesley!

That claw hammer and level is going to come in real handy! Seriously, think about it. What are you going to be able to fix on the side of the road other than a flat? If you feel secure totin a tool box around, choose wisely and don't carry around extra weight. You would be better off with a tire plug kit and a small compressor and a roll of duct tape.
I use to carry a toolbox when I drove a beater around, and 8 out of 10 time, I never had the correct tools needed or I needed a floor Jack and stands to get under the car.
Now if I could figure out how to squeeze this into my trunk....

That's a big box for someone who can't think of any roadside repairs that can be done with basic hand tools. ;)
I once had a ball joint rip out of a lower control arm. It was in the early 80s so well before cell phones, I was in the middle of nowhere and it was getting dark. Basic hand tools and a muffler clamp got me home that night. In all honesty, I was just hoping to limp to a payphone or gas station (there were mechanics at gas stations back then) but it drove fine so I took it easy and made it the 20 miles home. I was really happy that I had a few basic hand tools.

Does Roush have a tool kit for the S550 that mounts to the underside of the trunk lid? They used to have such kits for the prior Mustangs (2014-1995).
