Joking aside, its not what the dealers use, but its an aftermarket equivalent that does most (all ?) of the same functions.
It's free, you just need a dongle or a cable.
I'm not a IT kind of guy and I found it easy to use with some of the online guides and taking my time etc

Mostly, for changing various software settings which aren't officially meant to be user-editable (e.g. activate auto door lock, deactivate double-horn when you exit the vehicle, etc.). Or for disabling or enabling hardware and/or software features, particularly after a retrofit.I have read alot about it on here but what is it that most people use it for?
I thought it has that ability as of a few versions ago.What it cannot do, sadly, is flash a different firmware version into a module
In the big forscan threads I read that there were some forscan builds which allow firmware programing but these builds were only available on request and are not official.No, as far as I know it still can't do that. I believe UCDS can.
