There is a stealership near me that has a gt500 for 90k... it has 20k miles on it. i just feel like thats quite a bit of miles for that money.

that said; i know it all depends on how it was driven/taken care of..... but with regular and proper care...whats the life expectancy of these motors?

eh; i just called a dealer that another forum member mentioned; dont wanna risk it with the high mileage

20k in 2 yrs sounds normal for someone who drives it every day, esp. if its a long commute.
If I had one it wouldnt be a garage queen.

Lol these arenā€™t Porsche 944s that break down at 25K. The 5.2 has shown no longevity issues with normal use. Iā€™m sorry but 20K is nothing on todays cars.

Sorry I'm just...I don't know a lot about these motors.

I was reading about the 2020 and early 2021s having potential timing chain issues and stuff...so just trying to learn

I put 200k on a 2003 F150 supercharged harley truck. That was the 5.4 and with less advanced engineering. It only started getting funny after about 225k. I sold it and the guy told me the spark plugs started blowing out of the cylinder heads. I guess there was an issue with those heads not having enough threads tapped in there to hold the plugs. But that took 10yrs to happen. 20k.miles is peanuts.

Aight....I just figured with the higher HP that they would be more prone to shirt life.

Other than the 2020s (and maybe early built 2021?) possibly having timing chain issues....any other engine or tranny issues ton know about? I can't find anything but good news mostly

Where are you reading about timing chain issues, I've never heard of it with these 500's.

That whole effort was very VIN specific during a limited timeframe. At the end of the day, it appears that one particular builder may have messed up on some engines.
Most of the problem cars were caught before they broke anything.

I'm over 500 miles on my '21 so it's about time to part it out and haul it off. Once I live in a place with a better car culture, I'll probably drive it more. At that point though I might just buy a 67-68 Shelby and just have the new car for track use only.

I like to disassemble things.
Just convert it to electric. Then we can all come over and sing kumbaya while devouring kelp and mineral water.
