Alright thanks for the replies guys.

I'll probably go ahead with the Procharger and the oil pump gears. How important are the timing gears? I haven't read much about them going bad.

I think with the proper maintenance and not beating the crap out of it I'll be able to get the mileage out of it that I want, if not it'll be rebuilding time and I'll stand corrected :D
The 2015 timing gear it thinner than the previous years. You might as well upgrade it too, you have to remove it to get to the opg.

Seems I remember reading AM/Bama's mustang failed a timing gear and destroyed the motor.

Depends on your HP goals are for the car. I have a 2015 GT and so far I've done TSS billet oil pump gears and MMR billet crankshaft gear. I plan on going FI here in the next few months. Still looking into all of my options. I had a vmp gen 1 on my 13, Installed it at 16k miles and made 653/629 to the wheels on corn and drove it as my daily driver for 49k miles on the stock motor before trading her in on my 15. Odds are I'll be going with a turbo solution this time around. If you're going to do OPG's I'd suggest doing the crankshaft gears while you're in there. They're both in the same spot and I wasn't aware of the crank gear being an issue on my 15 until after i had my OPG installed. So yea, I had to do it twice lol.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I'll have to get the OPG and the crank gear. From what I've researched its 8-10 hours worth of work so labor will cost $800-1200 im guessing. Looked into the process and I don't think it's something I want to attempt in my driveway. I'll probably take it to the dealer or a mustang shop.

I see your in NJ, but Sam@Coastal here in tampa quoted me 675 for install of both. Lamotta in orlando quoted me a grand though.

just sharing some quotes I've gotten.

LaMotta said $1,000 for both to me too

A local in Tampa said $1,000 for headers + both

Good to know Coastal is $675, very fair price.

I don't plan to raise the rev limiter no.

So you think 500-550 rwhp from a centri will be ok on a stock DD engine for 200k+ miles? Assuming a conservative safe tune.

I also plan to put in an oil cooler so perhaps between the Procharger and cooler I should put in the upgraded oil pump gears, thoughts? Seems labor to install them would be around $1000?
My opinion would be just throw on the blower and oil pump gears and enjoy. If you can afford to buy a brand new Mustang and throw on a warranty-voiding blower, you can probably afford to handle whatever things MIGHT go wrong 100k miles later. I'm no expert with superchargers, but I feel like the most likely issues you'd have wouldn't be much different from a cost perspective than the discounted value of a thorough internals build up investment. The main difference is by not upgrading all of the internals you could probably avoid the costs all together, especially since you're going with a relatively mild FI setup.

Kind of seems this is the wrong platform to be trying to build for longevity especially if horsepower is involved. Typically horsepower and longevity do not go together hand in hand. If you want longevity get yourself a Honda or a Toyota and call it a day.

It seems a little ridiculous to not be concerned with the longevity and reliability of your car just because it's a performance car and not a Honda. Reminds me of "What does it matter how your car handles? Muscle cars are for straight lines!"
I, personally, like to have my cake and eat it too when possible.

He is talking 200K+ miles. Most cars on the road today probably wouldn't be able to do that in stock form let alone with 600+ horsepower. I am not saying it is impossible just probably not realistic. It may happen but I wouldn't count on it.

Yeah that makes sense... I got a little too nitpicky there. On a side note, I would hope today's cars can reach 200k stock; I don't think my family has had a car in the last 30 years that didn't last that long without any major work.

You really think that's necessary for a 550-600rwhp build for a guy that is just going to be using it as a DD, and not a track car?

I've heard many people say these cars are safe at power levels much higher then that.

There's even that Galpin Rocket that costs ~ $100k with 725hp on a internally stock S/C GT motor.

If the car was for track duty only, that would be different.
