UPDATE.
the owner called me back.

He had big plans for this car, but the “Rona” ruined that. This was his weekend cruiser, garage kept. Chose to sell, due to lost income.

he had the local dealership install the Ford Performance Pack 3.

he Stated his local dealership had installed the “anti-theft device” before he purchased the car but he opted out and refused to pay for it. And did not have it activated. He stated that he never noticed the small button down there.

He was glad to hear from me, as he stated that the GT was his baby. We saved each other’s numbers and will be in contact. He gets back from his business trip in about a month.

I would have Autonation were you bought it remove it. You don't want any electrical issues down the road.

It is a dealer anti-theft device, rip it out. Some dealers apparently install them on all their cars in an attempt to upsell it as some sort of security system for the car.

Some refer to it as a knock knock box, but I am certain it is a Karr anti-theft device.

It could also be a device they could use to track their cars in case the owner defaults on the loan.
