Just found out today one of my wheels are bent in the rear, I have a 255/40/19 set up at the moment. Im thinking of replacing the rears with a 17x10 vms wheel with a 305/45/17 tire. Has any one done this before or does any one have recommendations of what size tire to run in the rear.

(I make plenty of power to easily lose traction in the 255.)

If you’re going 17x10s run a 305/45/17 tire.

What mods do you have? Do you have a need to run 17x10s?

Likely don’t need 17x10s but if you want to run them have at it.

Should be fine but might bulge a tad.

The M1 comes with 19X11 rear wheel and 315/30/19. Its a perfect fit and ride imo.

Here is a table for tire widths. It is recommended to go 305 max on a 11'' but Ford goes with a 315.

You can run that fine, will be overkill for now but will be nice to have already, once you do go boosted.

That’s quite a change in size! I’ve played around with wheel and tire setups before, but I haven’t tried that exact combo. If you’re aiming for more grip, the 305/45/17 should help a lot, but make sure you check for fitment and maybe adjust your suspension. I’ve had good luck with 275/40/17 in the past for added traction without going overboard.
