This week I had a blast getting in 3 sessions at Track Night by Tire Rack and driving to over 12,000 feet at Rocky Mtn NP. And I hit the 10K milestone enjoying the hell out of this car!

Heck yeah! Track time, a Rocky Mtn. High, and hit 10 grand....sounds like a trifecta for sure!

Started to install my eBay replacement splitter and found some of the clips were missing and ripped, as well as a big crack on the driver's side of the belly pan. Guess she's going back to the dealer.

But on a positive note, the race ramps that didn't fit the lift ended up working Arkansas style :)

"What did you do to your GT350 today"?

I flew (by my own hand) a replacement standby GT350 transmission across the country for future use with HR871. I made sure the landing was smooth.

The writeup will appear on the HR871 thread.

Thanks Steve16 !

I like to disassemble things.
That trans has gone from Mexico to Michigan to California to Florida. It qualifies for a frequent flyer bonus!

Changed out the differential and transmission fluid with Redline products.

Only 2300 miles on the car and the differential fluid was bad!!! Transmission fluid was fine. But I did notice an improvement with the shifting.

Fairly easy to do and highly recommended.

I think we should create a thread just for that transmission and keep track of its journeys over the years.

Bad may be the wrong word to use. What I should haved said, was contaminated.

Redline is a personal preference.

Picked it up from the dealer this evening.... AGAIN.

So, far...

- Oil line recall repair
- Whacking some kind of animal on the way to work - $6,000 repair to grill, bumper, radiator, condenser, etc. etc.
- Driver's seat cooler switch/relay replacement
- Evaporator unit replacement
- And now... the water pump!

Love the car... it's warrantied, sure...
30,000 miles on it
I can sure do without the dealer visits.

FWIW,
Kirby

For the diff, how did you go about getting the proper friction modifier content in the fluid?

I have no intention to sell it. However if I have to, I know I can ship it for $60, so I may as well keep the box :D

I wish I had a spare transmission for the wife's '97 cobra. It won't stay in reverse unless you hold the shifter in gear.

So, that said, I don't think I will ever sell the tranny. If it goes, then it goes with the car that I've said that I will keep for the rest of my life.

Hmm.... I wonder how much to ship a voodoo 5.2 engine. Does anyone have a voodoo 5.2 for sale? ;)
