I had someone that bitched about my 98 Cobra (o/r h-pipe and flows) and have been pulled over in it but never got a ticket. I haven't put my decibel meter on either car but I plan to but I can tell you at idle, the Cobra is louder. The only time I hit quiet mode is when I'm coming home late and...
I was there in August with my 98 Cobra, right before I went to the Track Attack. I know Voodoo6G has a 350 out my way and he just placed an order on an R. Another of my friends has one that lives in SE Ohio.
I was raised on Fords. I had one Chevy truck that I bought then sold and my wife inherited a 77 GMC K25 Camper Special so we have that in our stable. The wife really likes some features that Fords have to offer, especially the keypad on the side for when she runs. I love my 350 and my Cobra, the...
I have the FP tie down brackets and I use over the axle straps without the axle part. On the Cobra, I use the axle part to go around the lower a arm in the front and rear end in the rear.
Decided to make mini me for the 350 with a Raptor towing it on a trailer. I also have a 98 Cobra that can go on the trailer. Unfortunately, I couldn't get an F-150 like my truck, so I opted for the Raptor. Might as well play while she's up for winter.
I have 5 acres, a 32x60 garage and during the winter, the trailer gets stored in the garage. In the summer, it gets parked beside the garage on gravel.
I have a 2013 F-150 crew cab 5.5' bed with the 5.0 and 3.55 rear axle and tow my other car on my steel deck 18' open trailer and it does just fine. It depends on how much you're planning to tow the car if it is worth it to buy a bigger truck. I have about 10k miles with a trailer on this truck...
You give me hope that I will get all of the things working on my Tech Pack eventually. Then I will fully love the car instead of being frustrated about the lack of coolers, until I start it anyway...
Doc, what I would do is use loctite on the bolt that hols the hex adapter in 50_Deep original post. That way you should be able to take the shaft that the tow hook bolts to out without the hex adapter coming loose. There is no need for the license plate bracket if that is what you're going for.
