IMVHO pass on the ported heads. With installation you'll be 3/4 of the way to a Beefcake 700rwhp FI special.

I hear ya' on the corn, There's a Sheetz station in Troutman off exit 42 on I-77 that carries Flexfuel, It usually runs E80 in the summer, There's a BP in Ft Mill, exit 85 off 77 that carries real E85, but it seems they're out half the time.

I used to keep a 55g drum in my garage to fill my Gen3 during the week and keep it filled using five gallon cans every other week. It was a PITA.

But I see you don't have a garage so that wont work.

Unless there's a reason you want '500rwhp' , a good 93 tune will get you 450,

Thanks for the advice friend, Steve was super nice and helpful when I first got my intake and original tune as well as when I updated for the headers. Unfortunately as far as I know they're not doing any dyno stuff anymore for customers at least. Kinda sucks wonder why he stopped. Worst part is it's literally like 3 minutes from my house.

Not everyone wants boost. Then what 620 or so horse low 10 high 9 sec 1/4 mile sure.. but your still slow in the boost game.

I agree with you on all of the above. I plan to reserve going full tilt for the track. As for the transmission, we’ll that’s a touchy topic. I hope mine lives a long and healthy life too. FWIW, I was shooting for 500 N/A rwhp too and fell short to the tune of 469/434. The only way I can make it there is to do what others have suggested with and add headwork, cams and a CJ intake.

I think nitrous can get you jailed in Canada. Maybe the same holds true in a few states In the US (not sure on that one, but maybe Tyonidus can tell us if that holds true in the state Where he lives).

My cheap 'chinese transmission' as seen 1.5x 60 foots while still on the stock clutch/shifter and still going strong. In fact, I broke a set of DSS 800hp shafts 3 years ago. Went back to stock shafts and no problems with those either.

Slap a Whipple on it and don't look back. The money you'll spend for an all out NA setup will never get you near the power of a forced induction setup.

@Tyonidus, aside from being a DD, will you be drag racing, road racing or just setting the car up to be a fun street car?

If you want to help the tranny and drivetrain live, consider adding the necessary mods to eliminate wheel hop (AKA-half shaft and drivetrain killer).
