Weathertech vs Husky floor mats?

Tell me more. They are full weatherproof? Hose washable?

And maybe a stupid question, but what is the top material made from? Is it rubbery? I can't stand any type of nylon material. The sound it makes when i rub my nails across it gives me the same reaction people get from nails on a chalkboard. Goosebumps for days!

The 3D Maxpider Kagu mats are weatherproof and hose washable. The top layer is thermoplastic. The best way I could describe it is a little softer and more grippy than a Weathertech mat, but not as much as a rubber mat. It’s really a texture unlike any other type of mat and is somewhat difficult to describe. It actually has a little bit of cushion to it unlike the Weathertech. Also the bottom is similar to the hooked side of Velcro fabric, but it doesn’t pull the carpet when you pick it up. It does an excellent job of staying in place, much better that the mats that have spikes.

My weathertech’s are not as good as the last cars set were. They hold dirt and fluid good, but the edges are curling in, the retainers don’t work and the logos are falling off.....But otherwise like them...

I used to really love Weathertechs. I had them in my 2013 F-150 and the passenger side never fit well. Bought another pair, still didn't fit right. Called Weathertech and they pretty much said tough cookie. Also had them in my 2009 F-150 too and they fit the same. Also they are really slick if you have wet feet. I've probably bought about 10 pair from Ford F-150's, Edges, Honda Fit, Honda Accord etc. They all are slick, the logo falls off etc.

Now lately Ford has been making some very nice floort mats that are true rubber, and are the floor liner style. I get into the car with wet feet and I don't slip, they grab. Love them. I feel that the Weathertechs are riding on their reputation and that they are better than a standard OEM flat mat but not better than upgraded all weather mats.

Oh I hate logos from companies on my mats. Love that the rubber ones just have a Pony logo and nothing else.

The liner type will give you the best protection but depending on what kind of shoes you wear they can be slippery when wet.

Rubber floor mats from Ford are the best, they stay nice and flat and are not slippery.

+1 for the Ford mats. I was planning on getting Weathertech or something similar but my car already had the Ford liners with the pony logos in it from the previous owner. They look great and catch everything. The fit is really good as well. I have them in the front and back. Going to get the matching trunk liner soon as well because I like them so much.

I have both: The huskies in the GT and RS fit fine and serve their purpose - I have a Weathertech trunk liner - fine and serves its purpose. The Huskies are probably a little cheaper, weathertech maybe look a little better, but there is no functional difference between the two.

I have had weathertech in a couple of vehicles and was very happy with them, I just got a set for my 2020 Mustang Bullitt.

I had weather tech liners in my truck and they fit poorly. I ended up returning them and getting husky liners. They fit better and protected more. I Also have the husky’s in my wife’s wrangler and my mustang, no issues.

The 3d maxpiders i liked so much better i took the weathertechs out of my wifes 4runner and put them in hers after i bought a set for the mustang and they were cheaper

I too had both. I have Husky now and they seemed really impressive at first but are now wearing out and starting to curl. 2nd time I've had less then stellar long term Husky issues.

I should of bought American and got Waethertech again. I'm not getting (China) Huskys again.


But im a flag waiver and I buy Forgeline and HRE also so I'm biased

With that in mind, I would never buy Made in China again when there is a US option. Had I known this, I'd have only bought Weathertech. This is a good point.

A set to look at is Tuxmats. They cover more area than Weathertech and probably the best looking mats I have seen so far. They are a pain in the ass to take out.

Maybe fakes? Mine were custom made for the Mustang and they fit perfectly. I had the 3dMaxspider on one of my cars in the past, they were good too.
