Hmm, when do I start my countdown? From when they told me I needed a new engine from middle of September or yesterday when they said they ordered a long block. I need a contest judges ruling on this. ;)
I'd say you win since you've been having to monitor your oil consumption and piss oil away while dealing with BS from Ford!

Why are you guys not initating lemon law procedures? I would never tolerate this kind of delay.

I did! Contacted state AG, Lawyer, and provided Ford with my intent to pursue Alabama Code Section 8-204-1. Every state is different but in the state of Alabama I did not have a strong enough case. The stipulation for my case was the delay due to a part, the engine. If they had my car for more than 30 days, which they did, and it was due to repair attempts (x3), then I would have had a strong case. Due to the special circumstances with a limited production vehicle and the delay for the hand built engine made my case really week since Ford was complying with the warranty.

^Something along these lines for me as well. Although I'm waiting for a response from Ford about the latest development.

I went from having a strong case because they kept telling me there wasn't a fix for the oil usage to a grey area because now they've miraculously (heavy sarcasm) found a fix and offered me a new engine.

Zitrosounds, did they offer you any compensation at all for the long wait?

SHE'S BAAAACK!!!!!

Got a surprise call Friday evening to alert me my car would be done Saturday. From first glance at the engine bay, JOB WELL DONE. However that is not enough for me. Once I got home I put her up on the quick jacks and went to work. Removed the splitter and belly pan and spent some quality time inspecting the work. Here is where I found some things not to my standards (pics to come).
I found one standoff installed but missing nut to secure in place, I replaced the nut. Found several fir tree (Christmas tree) cable ties not installed properly, installed. 3 of these fasteners were worn out and not reusable. I tried every parts store open on Sunday and nobody has them. I will probably have to go to Ford and have them ordered.
In the mean time I made my own with nylon clamps and fir tree push pins, did the trick. And lastly, the speed nuts that secure the splitter were toast! No surprise here as they are really fragile and should be replaced after every use. Replaced speed nuts. There is one fir tree standoff tape clip that is really bugging me but it will be so hard to get to. It secures a wire harness to the block just under the head. I see the tree side of the fastener and it is toast and frankly I am ANAL! That one will have to slide as I do not plan on fucking with it due to its location. It is in place and there is no play in the harness.
That’s it!!!! I am rather impressed with the install and satisfied. All my gripes are rather minor and most might not even bother replacing what I replaced.
Any who, I am back on the road and can’t get the shit eating grin off my face!!!!! Breaking in IAW the FP procedure and will be doing an oil change in 1k miles.:headbang::headbang::headbang:

Wow, that is amazing that's all you found in your inspection! No paint nicks, stripe gouges, greasy hand prints, or interior odor? That has to be a first.
