Funny, sad, and embarrassing I guess. I dread the day mine will become like this.

How long have you had your car?
Just since April, its going in for a warranty job soon so no dramas. Apparently its a common issue which only seems to affect the drivers side lamp. Just keep an eye out for it...

yep, just trying to get Titan Ford to get one in for me BEFORE I go in for my 3 month check (that they sent me the reminder for after just 4 weeks). Nope - "that doesn't fit our procedures". It seems I have to drop in and have a service dept member witness the problem before they will order another lamp prior to my "free inspection".

Am on the brink of switching to another dealer (after similar inflexibility with our other Ford) - are they all so bound by rules ?

My guess is that it's related to closing of doors, and it's mainly the driver's door only because that gets closed far more frequently.

Yep, they won't order one for warranty replacement until they see it first hand. Not really sure of the inner workings of the unit but it would be interesting to see whats inside. But...

I've read something saying they replace the unit in both mirrors and there then instructed to send the faulty part back to Ford so assess the issue first hand. I guess i'll find out when i book it in to get fixed.

The sad thing is that this issue with projection lights has been going on for a number of years now.

Yeah you'd think they would have replaced it with a more durable item on the production line. .....i mean this would be costing them money. ...oh well

Put 800km on the old girl in the last week - twice to Yanchep from Rockingham and back on the freeway and Wanneroo rd a few times and didn't see one mustang. What gives?

Also, had a totally random stranger knock on my door who wanted to make sure I knew there was a wild storm coming and she was concerned that I was going to leave the "beautiful car" outside in the elements. She waited till I parked it inside before she walked off. Gotta love it

We have puddle lights on the Focus, nothing fancy, just throws some light on the surface. They're coming up 2 1/2 years and no problems. It's amazing the problem with the Mustang has been going on for so long.

Now that is the real bizzaro thing with Ford. One particualr model will have gremlins with one particular item, whereas other models will not.

So the Focus's and the S550's maybe somewhat different but it would appear the mechanics are the same.
How can it be so right and so wrong...issues porting across from previous years, WTF........I guess that's the joys of motoring...phuuuurt:frusty:

Hi guys, brand new here, first post.

I've just ordered a new Mustang today!! Massive moment for me, this is my first ever brand new car so that's pretty exciting and to do it with something as special as a Mustang is just awesome.

They've got my delivery down as the 1st of July next year but I'm hoping that will be shortened with an extra batch of cars coming to Australia.

The next 12 months will be the longest ever but looking forward to doing all my research here with you guys.

Cheers, Steve.
