Got it...I figured lighter parts all around played the most important role....So in the end..less is more.

I'm surprised there isn't more conversation about the thread in the general forumns about the camo GT350 with different exhaust. I know allot of folks think it is a eco4 or eco6, but to me is sounds like a FPC v8. Just like the rumors predicted.

5.2L V8....SVT S550

Usual grain of salt disclaimers apply, but some other interesting stuff in there too.

Now if only it had had either FPC or CPC next to it :p

They also split up the S550 into J1, J2 and J3, wonder if that means it will see anything different for those...besides the convertible for J2

I would've guessed that S550 Job3 would be the SVT launch, but as that seems to be a separate line item, I wonder...

With a FPC wouldn't Ford be able to have either the Coyote or the Trinity platform sit lower under hood? Thus allowing for better clearance to meet the UK requirements for a pedestrian crumple zone and allow them to get back on track for either adding a Supercharger or a Turbocharger setup for a Mach1 or GT500 edition vehicle?

Just my thinking ..or perhaps over thinking. But, if the Flat plane crank is used then the need for a large crankcase would not be needed since the counter weighted crankshaft isn't necessary.

How exactly does Ferrari or Jaguar address this configuration with regards to vibration?
You are confusing a Flat Plane Crank engine with a Horizontally Opposed (Flat) engine as used by VW, Subaru, Porsche etc. They are not the same, with the FPC retaining the traditional V Formation..

At least the Cats tail seems to be out of the bag !

That would seem to fit, as 5.2 L is apparently the Max the Coyote can be safely Bored (re sleeved) to.

I doubt it's sleeved, it probably uses PTWA
