Yeah pretty much. Big thing to consider is the cost of the car versus the number of potential customers they expect. If demand is low, they aren't going to run out and purchase a limited edition model just to mess with on their own time. They will wait for a customer to bring their personal car to use as a test bed. Every year Ford makes their ECU just a little more complicated.
I'm more than willing to let one of 3 or 4 of the shops test out my car when it arrives. My house should be done by the time these hit showrooms. Start building in March and should be done in 6 months or a little less. Will have to wait until 2016 to track it or take it down south.

The Modular engines had narrow, large diameter journals
to shorten block length. Not conducive to high RPM

Well seems in practice the coyote has disproven your comment on bearings, boss 302 goes over 7000 rpm

Well, everything is relative. Larger diameter journals will increase friction and surface speed over smaller diameter ones, but clearly the diameter is small enough to still allow a 7000+ RPM limit. Whether that is truly "high RPM" is also relative.
