That's why I used to use Caterpillar for my UOA's, back when I did them, because TBN, Oxidation and Nitration were very useful in assessing the condition of the oil.Why do you guys not get TAN and TBN? Just never heard about it or don’t understand it? All the elements tell you a lot about your engine, but it’s the properties at the bottom that tell you the health of the oil, and TAN and TBN are a huge, major part of that.
