Well my new versions have been setting on my work bench every since I got them back from Viking . I wanted to sell them but nobody wanted them even for a cheap price .. So today I figured screw it and put them on my car ..

Guess what ? They still rattle just like they did before ..It sounds like I left the spare tire and jack lose in the trunk ..Mine old ones never squeaked but now they are squeaking like hell ..

Good thing I never sold them to someone here on 6G because they would have been pissed !!! I'm pulling them back off and tossing them in the trash , but before I do I'm going to take a hammer to them just so no one will ever be able to use them ..

If you are thinking about buying a set of Vikings drag shocks ...Don't !! Beefcake and Viking made money off me for these shocks , but you can bet money neither one of them will ever get a dime of my money again ..

As a newbie here I have seen guys talk good of Beefcake. Why don't you try and work something out. I know it is to late but I would never spend that much for those rear shocks. Never. Get the Ford Racing as I am tomorrow or wait for the Koni/Bilsteins. If I do not like the Ford Racing shocks/struts some member here will get them for a cheap price with a 1000 miles on them.

Hope the fix is in!

I hope the new version works the way it should. I have never experienced such a problem with shocks and I have used many from Monroe through to Motons and Penskes - Koni, Bilstein, KYB, etc. etc.

Just took 'em off today to ship away for the "new" version. I endured a 12,000mi trip around the USA last year with my brand new car sounded like a junker. Wife wasn't impressed.

I've already had them off 3 times or more. Changing bump stops, adding washers, lubing bushings. I'm not too happy right now. Plus being in Canada I have to suck back freight charges and associated fees.

I had to wait 10 months for Bilstein's to be available for my f150. At least they worked great right out of the box. Viking you better get it right!

I've been hesitant as can be, but I wanted adjustable shocks so I can dial in the correct setting. So I chanced it and ordered Viking warriors 2 weeks ago. I kept thinking if they clank or squeak, over the past 2 weeks.

I installed them this evening. Settings 5c7r and drove ~30 miles (nice day today). Need stiffer settings, but no squeaks or clanks. They seem quality build. Holding on to stock pp shocks incase they develop a issue and need repaired. Will update with 6c8r hopefully tomorrow or day after.

I also have new version crusaders that clunk constantly, everyone asks what is loose under my car. 500 or whatever dollars, Viking says they don't know.

How did they get so recommended on this forum? Sounds like another product that gets a hard push around here......hmmm .

Can Viking fix them or are they just crap?

Calling them led absolutely nowhere. I would love to get my money back.

That's pretty disappointing news on the re-engineered version. I'm guessing that Viking changed the shaft but left the lower mount and the internals the same. Sadly - this leaves me thinking this product is a bit of a crap shoot whether you get a good pair or not.

I also have the low speed rattle/clunking with the original 'handling' Crusaders which were purchased from BMR. Grimace427 put in my OEM PP shocks this Saturday and I'll be sending the crusaders back to Viking this week. Hopefully this issue gets sorted out with the revised components. I spent quite a bit of time last year providing feedback including audio of the issue directly to Viking. I also talked with a number of forum members who had the same issue.

I'll capture another video with the OEM shocks and post it along with the video I sent to Viking so people can hear the difference. I'll capture of a video with the updated Crusader shocks as well. The Crusaders' performance is fantastic but all the noise is a deal breaker.

Man am I not getting a good feeling about the new version (used) I picked up from a fellow member. I won't be able to drive my car for another couple weeks to find out if they rattle.

I don't care what anyone says, rattling $500 shocks is bs ($50 shocks to for that matter) and they will not last 5 minutes on my car if they do and I will flush any possibility of Viking products down the toilet.

Had the first version and they rattled like I was driving a 1978 Ford Pinto wagon!

I hope you guys get a fix soon. My original Viking double adjustables on my 2011 have been fantastic for going on a year and a half. By far the best upgrade to my suspension, anxiously waiting for front struts to match.

we aren't having any issues with the revised on our end

i'll shoot an email to the guys and see what they have to say

as far as recommendation, they get recommended for drag racers because they work very well.

we go 1.2 60's in our 2011 car, and they have already been proven to do that on the 2015's too

beefcake that's a valid point.

My first set (version 1) were warrior shocks. The set I grabbed from a member are drag version crusaders.

Maybe people can chime in on the new version they have issues with so maybe we can see if it's a certain version having the issue?

the new version is only a revision to the upper mount. it has nothing to do with the internals or the lower mount.

the clunking is internal shock body and has to do with the valving, IMO so the shocks would require a complete redesign. If you have loud exhaust, you might not even hear it, which is what I suspect is happening when some say, "No problem on our end."

I'm told they redesigned the shock rod itself and have upgraded the lower mount bushing. Other than that the valving is unchanged.

The valving is different I believe between warrior and crusader and probably a difference to the Drag version crusaders as well.

That's why I am wondering if the issue may be isolated to non drag versions or maybe to the Warriors?
