GT with a GT350 intake. Will it work?

Sorry if it's been asked already.

1st, I want to say that I hope that Velossatech is alright. They're located in southern Florida and hurricane Matthew looks terrible. His website is also down currently.

I got my big mouth intake today, and wow, what a pain it was to install. I read that a 2nd revision was made to accomodate for the grill a bit more, maybe I got a 1st edition. I screwed around with repositioning the intake for about 2 hours before deciding on grinding down the nubs of the big mouth, grinding about 1/3 of an inch (at an angle to match the angle or the big mouth) all around the GT grill, and it still sits super tight on the driver side. It is on and all together, but I feel like the bumper cover has a lot of pressure on it where it bolts to drivers side fender, and could break. It's so tight, you can see white stress marks inside on one of the big mouths bends. I dont want to grind anymore away from the grill, doing so would take away its integrity. I tried everything I could think of, but found no other solutions.

I can't imagine my grill is defective, but it looks like the point of contention is the top right section (if looking at it from the front). This section sits flush on the grill, while the left and bottom seem to have a gap. I think this could be designed to be a little wider and deeper.

It sounds like it is still a design issue. I'd strongly suggest not leaving it like that if you had to pull the bumper with any force to get the tabs back in at the fender. They are very thin and will break - ask me how I know. :(

Yeah, before doing any grinding I had to push and pull it up to get it close. After grinding, I had to use my foot to push the bottom up a little to get it in place. It wasn't a lot of force, but it didn't fall Into place easily like the passenger side.

Ugh, I should probably take everything apart and take it out.

Thanks for the info, I thought it might be down due to the weather knocking a server out. Luckily I paid with PayPal.

Hey Soldier989, PM me when you ordered yours. Our web store got totally messed up (I think it is hacked, not sure if it's related to the storm or not), not sure if you got the old revision, sounds like you may have. Contact me right away.

So far the new revision has had no issues reported.

I ordered mine on Tuesday, and it was shipped Wednesday. It looks like the new glossy type, but the snout (backside of the grill with honeycombs) doesn't fit in the big mouth hole well and seems to be getting stuck on one of the flares. I'm probably going to take it off tomorrow, so I'll get some pics.

It looks like if I were to remove the entire section of honeycombs, I'd have plenty of clearence. That's another 1/2 inch of plastic that would be out of the way (want to keep a stock look though).

Yes on throttle response and yes on drop in iat, small boost in airflow lbm/min at higher vehicle speeds.
