That sucks! At least there wasn't any damage. I probably would have gone to the police website and filed a report with the damages being the cost of a car wash, just to get it on record.

Slightly off topic, what camera are you using and how does it fit with the sun shade? Looks like the sun shade just kind of hangs back a few inches off the windshield?

A coworker confronted him as the guy was at my car again, around the same time as yesterday. Nothing happened except my (large) coworker scared the hell out of him.
I have to see the video tonight!
You sure he's not scoping your car out...if he was back and staring at it like that then he's up to something?

I'd be careful, esp since you're a lady. That POS looks nuts. I'd be on the horn with the cops telling them this puto is stalking me at my place of work.

Not OK. All you guys saying it's no big D are crazy. If this guy was doing this to my wife, he'd get f-ed up real bad.

Incidentally, I did want to submit the video to that district's PD simply so they'd have the creep on file in case someone else encounters a problem. But it would require my having to go file a report in person and I haven't decided whether to do that.

The camera is by Kehan, purchased off Amazon. Although it has been good to me, there are better ones being used by others on the forum. I like mine mainly because it doesn't loop for 20 hours and the picture quality is decent. But we have had to replace it once and it will not work properly if you forget to format the card first. The Covercraft does not fit over it. I have the passenger sun visor holding it precariously in place when in use.

Do you have locking lugnuts. Maybe he is checking out the wheels to see if he could steal them quick.
The way he's looking at the side of your car is suspicious.

He's totally scoping something...especially looking left and right all the time to see if anyone is watching him.

The couple of you who say: "not vandalism, nothing to see here", make as much sense as this douchebag. Sorry Liz, I know that sick sense of being violated too. Now I'm off to Amazon for a dash-cam!

Kinda like those that say graffiti is art.

It's totally vandalism...it's not like the cup fell out of the sky the guy intentionally threw/dumped it on the window/hood.

The term includes criminal damage such as graffiti and defacement directed towards any property without permission of the owner.

I showed the You Tube clip to more than a dozen people today. I ask them what they would do if they caught somebody doing that to their car. All of them, I SAY ALL OF THEM said they would kick his ass.

You toucha my car, I breaka your face.

Go look up the definition of vandalism. The guy is a 110% douchebag but he didnt "vandalize" the car.

I don't think anyone would put up with some a-hole doing this to their car, even if it's "technically" not vandalism. It could very well be the first step to something done worse by the guy later on. It was said he has already been caught hanging around again after the recoreded incedent. This guy needs to be focused on and dealt with.

van·dal·ismˈvandlˌizəm/
noun
noun: vandalism
action involving deliberate destruction of or damage to public or private property

Heh...fair enough since no actual destruction ensued. But I'd still call it an attempt at vandalism if I wanted to get technical about it lol.

Y'all keep talking about legal terms, and cops and law.

F*** all that.

If this spineless mouthbreather did this to your car, you would feel violated. Maybe if more people in the world got punched in the face for doing stupid s*** then it wouldn't happen as often. This guy would think about how much his face hurt the next time he was going to do it to someone else.

End rant.

Actually it is vandalism. Look it up. He did not have permission to pour his soda on the hood. Soda is an acid and can damage finishes and paint.

You don't need destruction for vandalism to occur. Damage is still vandalism. If that soda eats into his paint then its vandalism. If he was to take a tree branch and put some sap on the car and it bakes in the sun and ruins the finish...it's vandalism.
