I don't think that a Mustang necessarily attracts more attention. On my 2006 someone dragged something across the hood. Figured it was probably some woman in the parking garage who tossed her purse on my car while getting stuff out of her car and then dragged it pulling it off. Never was sure but was able to buff it out.

On my wife's BMW - big scratch on her hood. Haven't been able to buff it out by hand. It is less noticeable but going to take more work, IF it isn't too deep. The scratch on her door I was able to buff out.

Jealous people will do things to nice cars. It's the "I don't have it and you do so I am going to show you my disdain" mentality.

When you park way off all by yourself, you're calling for attention. I try to park more on the outskirts of the crowd, where I have a couple spaces between me and the other cars, but not all alone.
I just do that for the exercise and the fact I get in the store quicker than driving around for a spot. Also our doors are so damn long I don't want to hit someone else's car. So I just do it for health and the sake of others.

Only incidences I've seen of vandalism were usually personally directed more so than random. Such as ex girlfriends or ex boyfriends of girlfriends.

Although every few years around here you hear of massive tire slashing incidences.

Just thought if would post a reply from a Mustang owner down under in Australia. Not heard of any vandalism of a Mustang in the Australia, but many admiring looks, comments and pics taken of my car when parked or on the road. Experienced a close encounter with a big red Kangaroo when travelling home the other night attracted to the road shoulders to eat the only green grass available because of the continuing big drought and lack of rain across Australia. The big red bastard came that close I could see the whites of his eyes as skimmed past the drivers side of my beautiful S550 Black Ford Mustang. You may have close calls with racoons and the like, but a bullet proof red kangaroo standing at 6 feet tall is a very imposing sight coming at you and is capable of causing lot of damage to your car.

I can attest to the pucker factor of seeing a roo up close and personal. My wife and I were vacationing in Queensland two years ago and we wondered why all the trucks were covered in bars up front like something from a Mad Max movie. We wondered until we saw a big buck jump over the road in front of us less than 100 feet ahead! :eyebulge:

Around here, moose are the big danger on the road. Those things are bigger than horses, and fear nothing.

It's occurred to me I'd be pretty cut up if my Orange Fury GT got a door dent, or a decent scratch.....but a dark green Bullitt with a few war wounds is actually more authentic :)
Was wondering why you ordered a custom bumper sticker that said: F*** you followed by your address.

These are Mustangs not Bugatti's.

Most people don't give a crap. They are a dime a dozen.

I'm the wrong side of fifty.

Years of experience has given me the ability to care less about sh1t I can't control. Besides, the ginger whinger has the launch codes. All our problems could disappear next week ;).

Living in a semi rural area, I have to watch for cows that get loose, and coyotes. There are feral hogs out here too but I rarely see one. In the city it's worse with ppl on their cell phone and them changing lanes 3 at a time. As far as vandalism not so much. I garage the car when I'm not driving it. She doesn't sit in the driveway.

It doesn't take much to trigger a hater. Stay away from YouTube where you'll find thousands of vids of jerks damaging all manner of cars for little to no reason at all. Ask me how I know this!

And parking far away doesn't always help. So many times I've left dozens of empty spots between my car and the entrance and returned to find someone parked right next to me.
