I see that it matters that you go after a obviously not right person who caused no damage to your car. "Vandalism caught on dash cam" was just a cry to get you some attention.

Birds crapping on your car is more vandalism than what this guy did squirting some sports drink on your windshield and leaving cup on the car.

Putting this video on a public forum and youtube is just self serving to get you attention. A police officer would laugh at this.

Keeping it real.

Somebody throws a sports drink in your face, you gonna take it? Remember you can just wash it off.

Sorry you were the victim of this jackass, Liz. Hope your car is undamaged, or easily fixed.

And, of course it's vandalism. When someone intentionally pours something on your vehicle, and that something may very well be harmful to the finish, that's vandalism. Remember, many soft drinks contain citric acid. Combine that with the sugars and other ingredients and it could very well etch the paint, or worse.

Thanks guys, after washing the hard droplets off there did not seem to be damage left behind on the paint or wrap
The substance was on there for only 8 hours or so ;)

So I still want to know how the guy was caught, and if he said anything in "defense". What a useless pile of meat...

Definitely something not right with him. The way he just stood there staring. Reminds me of something from Paranormal Activity.
thats what i thought too, he's standing in the same area not moving and looking.. reminds me of this scene

A coworker confronted him as the guy was at my car again, around the same time as yesterday. Nothing happened except my (large) coworker scared the hell out of him.
I have to see the video tonight!

Seems odd that he walked straight over to that car to shoot a little sports drink on it. It was as if he was mad at you and didn't have the guts to do something destructive (which is good).

We had a couple of kids vandalizing cars in the neighborhood years ago. Put a cam in the front window of our house and they very next night caught the little idiots pouring used motor oil on our cars. The cops had a nice talk with them. One set of parents made the kid come over and apologize. He came over crying and offered to pay for a wash. I gave him a short lecture about how dangerous it is to mess with people's things and let him go. The other kids parents? Denied it was their kid even though we had evidence. A lot of people suck at parenting.

When I was at school, i was bad, i got the cane, got smacked by my parents, I learnt my lesson. This person wanted to do damage, but never had the guts so he just threw a drink over the hood, what will he do next time?
He needs to be shamed than maybe he will learn a lesson that in future could keep him out of jail

My question is, has OP contacted the police? At what point do you do this? After he has sunk his pocket knife deep into the paint? Report this now and press charges. Assholes like this continue on unless the heavy hand of the law starts fining them. Then some assholes keep going, but at least try.
